Yeah, San Antonio. “NOT HOLDING UP.” You know who will? Scoot Henderson, who rumor has it has a Wolverine-like healing factor. That time he fell ten feet flat on his face and popped right back up? Looked pretty manly, right. Nah. MUTANT GENES.
In truth, there’s relief to me in not having to pick him. Greg Oden comes to mind too.
Ben Simmons was considered a cant miss prospect
But not generational
This has occurred to me as well as I’ve attempted to process my disappointment over the last 24 hours. While I absolutely don’t wish this upon the young man, the track record for guys his size holding up over the long haul is a bit concerning. Ralph Sampson and Yao Ming come to mind.
When it comes to extraordinarily large humans like them, it does seem that perhaps the body may not be optimally designed to endure the rigor of professional sports. While I’d gladly love to have that concern, it would absolutely be a concern that was always there.
Idk his NBA draft comp by most people was Lebron. I think he was considered generational he just got injured early which diminished his hype when he started playing.
That lineup gets me pretty damn excited
I was advocating for getting Simmons like a year and a half ago and I will admit man was I wrong. Guy just doesnt want to play basketball lol.
Ben Simmons has all the talent in the world to be great. He just doesn’t want it.
Me too. Definitely wrong on that one.
I was probably the most fiercely vocal about my dislike for Ben Simmons. I won’t rehash the diatribes. So, I’ll toot my own horn there. Consider my horn tooted!
I really like Cam Whitmore. If the hornets had landed the #5 pick, I’d spend it on Whitmore. Unless Amen Thompson dropped to 5, but I highly doubt he will.
Why are we being matched with Tshibwe? Don’t we have enough late 1st, early 2nd round undersized centers? I don’t get this one.
The same reason every trade scenario involves Clint capela, ayton or some other over priced throwback center.
They know the front office well
