My interpretation is Ball is clearly the overall best rookie at the moment.
Itās official, I saw the first LaMelo should leave Charlotte and goto ____ team post
Ha! Suprised it took this long.
It has a similar, if highly magnified, feel as to when Lin was with us. He brought totally one-eyed, obsessed fans with him who would preach about his majestic brilliance to anyone who was unfortunate enough to see their messages.
We all know that Ball is a building block for the Hornets and provides a focal point to build around going forwards. That has me almost as excited as his play TBH.
I think he handled his first start well. I have noticed since about the first indy game he has made some adjustments. He seems to be more efficient and direct with the ball in terms of wasted dribbles and more direct drives. He is also flirting with changing gears which is huge for pg development.
Heās added three things I have noticed. Heās slowed his approach to first free throws, that was a correction he seemed to take in real time from ? Devonteā? in the first IND game IIRC. Heās started to be more selective in his gunning from distance and home run passes, and heās revealed a lower gear burst and higher gear sustained speed we had never seen before that heās using to great advantage.
He seems to be learning and growing in real time and to me, that might be the absolute coolest thing about him. He already came across as tremendously intelligent but this all seems to show a huge interest to take in anything and everything and that is just absolutely badass.
How many minutes per game?
34mpg over the last 5 vs 26.5mpg on the season.
JB didnāt seem too happy about him getting almost 40 minutes last night so donāt see that being a regular occurrence.
(Around 1:10 in the interview)
Thatās impressive. He is really impressing me with his growth and efforts. It isnāt easy doing what he is doing.
Thatās good company right there and heās still got 49 games to go this season.
And Rex was left off of top ten list
Thatās about as retarded as thinking George Shinn was bad for Charlotte.
Mr. Founding,
What was the criteria for the top 10 list that omitted Rex?
While heās certainly up there for nostalgia/feels/highlights, he was very inefficient and not a winner here. Put up some decent numbers in Washington while he was healthy. Iāll give him that.
Sorry, guess Iām getting off topic.
Vet, not sure but was kind of a Rushmore type of thing that took into account more than statsā¦Kendall Gill was on it
Agree with your points but he was our first ever pick and was a heck of a player.
Go to you tube and watch the game he dropped 41 on the Rockets.
My favorite film of Rex was when he dominated MJ one evening. Unfortunately, he was playing for the Heat at the time. Great film though. Rex was talking mad shit. MJ still not a fan. Maybe thatās why he was left off the list.
I must respectfully disagree.
Rex had some great games but the numbers show Gill being a superior player. Gill dropped 20 a night in 2 different NBA seasons(including 1 of his 3 with the Hornets). Rex never achieved that his entire career, despite plenty of shot attempts. Gill was far superior as a defensive disruptor. Led the league in steals per game at one point of his career. Did well in that area here. Was a big part of the first playoff run in 1992-93, scoring 17 a night and playing effective D.
Where Gill failed was in the āPR departmentā, I suppose. Reported to be disgruntled as the third wheel behind LJ and Zo. All 3 of those guys wanted alpha status and we fans were like āJust get along and become the Team of the 90s for us, guys!ā Years later it came out that Gill had some depression issues, and I donāt mean to make light of it.
