In fairness, No One that scoot has been compared to is a lead you to a championship kind of guy.
Yeah but they arenāt betas either
In fairness to your fairness, Rose was on that trajectory before he blew out his knee. Won MVP at 22, led team from 41 wins to 62 that year to lead the league in wins. Averaged 25, 7.7 and 4.1. They went to Eastern conference Finals and lost to the Lebron/Wade/Bosh Heat.
So there is precedent. Good thing Scoots jumping doesnāt look like it has anywhere near the torque rose put on his whenever he jumped.
Welp that didnāt take long. Iām all in on Scoot.
Iām confident he has the mindset to improve his game wherever lacking. Canāt say I feel the same about Miller. I donāt think heāll meet the challenges of the NBA.
Pretty sure the Hornets will draft Miller though.
So that leaves me with a quandary. Iām always wrong in my draft assessments, so in that light Miller will be the better player.
But thereās no way the Hornets donāt screw this up. Theyāre the Hornets. Iām not sure whose incompetence prevails here.
I do think David Tepper would take Scoot if he had a say.
After watching Scoots combine interview posted on the hornets YouTube page, how could you not want this guy: I have zero doubt heās going to a star. His overall attitude is just perfect for the Hornets. Please donāt mess this up Mitch. After his recent comments, Iām scared weāre going to pick a late lottery pick at 2 or trade back.
It seems like every year people think we are going to trade back but I donāt think Mitch has ever done it. We also already have too many picks, so I canāt imagine Mitch entertains trading back whatsoever
Youāve fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Charlotte, but only slightly less well known is this; never go in against a Jordan GM, when the draft is on the line! Aha ha ha haā¦
We literally traded back last season. We traded a lottery pick for a late first round pick this year. After that bonehead trade⦠anything is possible.
Difference there is they didnāt want two first rounders with guaranteed contracts last year. I donāt see them moving down this year unless they fall in love with a player slated for later in the lottery or some miracle trade pops up thatās just the right mix of things we need while dispensing players we donāt. Thereās far too much value in picking a an early first rounder who will be there for a few years, like be a great player, and generate interest in the team.
That being said, who knows? I donāt see them trading down though unless someone wants to offer a lot to get Scoot.
He traded Shai to the Clippers to pick up Bridges a spot back his first year as GM.
Yup. I already have a feeling of dread.
Thatās right as well⦠too bad we did that.
Oh sh!t - this is bad. Thank God that we have options.
I hope that this is just the typical pre draft smearing BS. Word is that Melo tanked his interview w the Dubās thus his fall to us.
But we have another option just in case.
If MJ is not involved then I trust Mitch to get it right 75% of the time. After Bouk and Kia, I expect Mitch to be EXTRA diligent.
Remember when Bonnell(rip) reported that LaMelo was a bad interviewer? Look where LaMelo ended up
Good thing, either way, Scoot seems great in interviews.
I listened to a podcast this morning, and they were extremely dubious of the Givony report. Even going so far as to speculate if there were dots to connect between Givony, his friend and former Draft Express colleague, who just so happens to be assistant GM in Portland and Portland wanting Miller to be available at #3.
The parallels between the comments about Miller interviewing poorly and LaMelo, which @GeraldWallaceMVP mentioned, further make me think this is all smoke, mirrors and backhanders.
Iām still Scoot over Miller, but the PR wheels are certainly turning gainst Miller.
Last time Mitch picked #2 drafted Lonzo Ball. Traded former #2 DāAngelo Russell for Brook Lopez.
