Who makes the 15-man roster 2021-22?

I definitely don’t have a problem waiting to see if last year was a flash in the pan

Thinking the FO won’t hesitate to drop one or Richards/Carey (depends on how they are playing at the moment) if there is suddenly a perfect FA to pick up within the season or if (and I hope not) one of our main guys will be out due to a long injury. Still think if we 1 too many centers on the roster

Saw a video last night of Ball saying Miles was his best friend. And they are going to e special on the court together this year.
But we still hold the cards on Miles all we have to do is match what he’s offered.

Richards has been hot garbage for the most part and doesn’t look NBA material. That’s not a ringing endorsement of Carey either-who has not really shown much.

Agree which furthers prove that us having 15 full slots won’t be any deterrent for us to pursue a potential FA during the season since those 2 are dispensable

So would you guys give up PJ for Bagley…. Since he seems to be out of the rotation in Sac?

hell no. i have no idea what people’s facsination with bagley is. no teams have been wanting to trade for him. SAC doesn’t even want him.

I’d try to get him for less; but we could really use Bagley. The Kings don’t know what they have.

Noooooooooooooo. Why would we trade for someone worse lol

Talent for talent, I’d do it. Bagleys career points and rebounds are better than PJ. He brings more size. Plus SAC is a horribly run franchise and he hasn’t benefitted from the developmental focus that PJ has with the hornets. The contract situation would be my concern trading for him and why I would shoot for offering less.

Too early, Bridges court hearing is August 19. Until then we will have multiple open spots, since we cannot go into MLE and other exceptions.

How many open spots do we have? I can only think of two?

See - this is the kinda stuff we should be talking about!

We need a backup PG. I thank IT for stepping in but we need to go into a different direction this year.

Yes. No matter what happens with our frontcourt felons…Guard a big need, has to be one of our last 2 spots.

Depth of Ball, Terry, Cody, Oubre and injury prone Hayward & Bouk
In JB case hoping improved conditioning help with stamina and past injury issues…ankle, elbow, wrist, a pain in the neck. And now this pinky thing happens.

Want better than IT too.
But Realistically, especially this summer, expect we only can get to come to Charlotte are from Minimum/low price point MLE tier of Payton, IT, Augustine
Rondo there until pulling gun on wife last month, and remove others with issues I forgot/never knew too.

Plumlee/Richards/Williams
PJ/Thor/Jones
Hayward/McDaniels/Oubree/McGowens
Rozier/Cody/Bouknight
Ball/Kemba

Looks like we have 14 on the roster at the moment. Not sure if they’ll add a 15th. They usually don’t. True they need a PG. I doubt Kemba is physically able to do that.

Of the 14 we have 8 solid NBA players in

Ball
Rozier/Martin
Hayward/Oubre
Washington/McDaniels
Plumlee

Some better than others of course. But overall not good enough.

The rest are all either unavailable (Bridges), marginal (Richards) or in-development (Bouknight, Thor, Jones, Williams).

McGowens is a two-way.

Richards and/or Williams will need to play backup C for now. Someone will need to, since with Bridges out PJs PT will need to be at PF.

That’s my take. I’m not very excited about the coming year right now. This off-season hasn’t produced any positive developments except maybe the drafting of Williams and that was ruined by the debacle with the 13th pick.

Then summer league wasn’t great.

Mitch is sitting on his cards again and now running with Clifford (also, again smh). So yeah, this isn’t exciting.

Of course, one big trade could change all that for the better (???) or for the worse (Westbrook). Not expecting anything but Mitch will drop out-of-blue shit when unexpected (signing Hayward; Rozier’s extension), so who knows.

I suspect if anything happens it’ll be bonkers. Look they re-hired Clifford…these are the Kings of the East.

In a way, “Kings of the East” sounds cool though.

Just in one way.

Starters: ball, rozier, Hayward (when healthy)
1st rotation guys: Martin, Washington

2nd rotation/in a pinch guys: oubre, mcD, plumlee

This team has 2 1/2 starters and 1 1/2 meaningful rotation guys for a legit playoff caliber team.

It needs to be reset ASAP
