I take it by your 100% we make a move before the deadline that either thereās multiple teams interested in one of our players, or weāre set on moving all except the core 3 (plus NSJ), so somethingās got to happen.
It would be great if ownership have given the front office direction, and not simply sat back while our lame duck, or simply lame, GM charged his mobile phone (cell phone to you lot) so he can take and make calls during the final hour before the deadline passes.
Also genuine question/thought:
I know people donāt want to do trades than involve us sending multiple first rounders, but how else are we supposed to get better players? Itās how weāre going to do it. A star player isnāt going out of his way to sign a deal with Charlotte unless itās a gross overpay-and the overpay does more harm than good. Iād rather just send the picks than get cap screwed for 2-4 years.
Thatās a great thought that we want to just draft them, but thatās not really going to help Melo now. Guys, we just handed Melo 50m per year. Need to start winning and putting real pieces around him, very soon.
Looks like Lamelo is questionable tonight. Thought that might be the case. Just go ahead and hold him out.
How about Quentin Grimes, Fournier and a FRP from NYK for Rozier?
Grimes has a shot of being a pretty good running mate to Melo with low risk (1 yr left on rookie deal). Fournier has a team option in 24/25.
Grimes has fallen off somewhat but multiple teams are interested thinking that can be turned around. Heās known as a good on ball defender.
This is suggested by a NYK fan on RGM trade board. He suggested a 2nd but I feel a 1st out of the question
Definitely a first. NY has 2 this year. Iām good with that. Donāt have a lot of salary tied up and get to see how Grimes does. Not sure how much of a better offer we could get. I would take Herro from Miami if that were possible, but donāt think it is

He has a club option next year, then a restricted free agent in 2025. I assume we would buy out Fornier in that proposed deal.
First round pick should only be lottery protected at worst, but the Knicks should be in the playoffs.
Rozier and Bouknight to GSW for Wiggins and Moody. Wiggins isnāt playing well but he is a 3 and D wing that we could pair with our core.
Melo, Miller, Wiggins, Bridges and Williams.
We can move Hayward for peices or just keep him and use his expiring contract.
