2023-24 Hornets General Discussion Thread

stop doing this. we have finally hit a point at which new owners are ready to reset this miserable franchise around melo, miller and maybe mark.

don’t get sucked back in!

I honestly have no idea. that was just a suggestion.

I think OKC, Indiana, and NY have been stockpiling picks to make deals. It’s the way to do business these days, and just shows how out of touch Mitch has been with new trends and proper asset management.

It’s the only thing that can allow us to make bold moves in trades, rather than just hoping for the best every transaction season

Yeah but theres a difference in stockpiling potential lottery picks and stockpiling picks in the damn 20s

“I don’t think the Nets go there, but if they wanted to dump Simmons, Charlotte has another big expiring, and one that likely never suits up for them. If1 FRP could get it done, maybe the Nets think about it.“

Saw this on RGM trade board concerning the Terry to Miami trade

No, no, no, noooooooo! Want no part of Ben Simmons. Only reason I would not hang up the phone is multiple unprotected 1st coming my way. Still probably wouldn’t do it.

i was strongly implying that they need not keep bridges around. rebuild around miller and melo.

Oh. Well, not gonna argue against dumping Bridges!

But might attend a game this season if all 3 are healthy on the same night…

How are we feeling about our 2023 draft picks heading into February of 2024? I’m seeing the good game out of NSJ I was hoping for. I haven’t watched a ton of Bailey, but he seems like a tweener. I wish we could get Njaji over here from Spain since we’re probably going to trade Richards.

Look like GG Jackson is absolutely balling in Memphis. Looking like I was 100% wrong on him. But man, those detractors coming into the draft were all truly big red flags. Too bad we don’t have this guy on the team. This video takes a good, realistic look at his play so far-but doesn’t mention how he’s doing on the defensive end.

quick trade clifford!

Why not pursue Mike Budenholzer, though?

He would be a phenomenal pick for a melo, miller, williams core. he would get the most out of pj and nsj too.

I am hoping they will open the bag a little and pay for coaching staff, so we get some good coaching.

The most notable coach we’ve ever had was Larry Brown, and that was a favor to MJ that he was here. We’ll get someone from college or an up-and-coming assistant, it’s the Hornets way.

Schnall has connections to college coaches through all of his basketball adventures, so I expect that to be a strong possibility. I was hoping Jay Wright would be interested but he’s reportedly done with coaching.

“Schnall is an avid basketball fan who still plays the game three days a week. He is close to a number of college coaches.”

Damn, that’s really unfair to Griffin. Unless he has something going on like Udoka did, he literally has the Bucks with the second best record in the league after a team altering trade and trying to integrate Lillard.

It’s not like they were struggling under him. Whatever difficulties, you don’t even give the man a chance to address anything or adjust as a first year coach.

According to the timeline, Schnall was in the ownership group while Budenholzer was coach and named President of Basketball Operations in 2015 until 2018.

So maybe they have a relationship enough to bring him in.
