The difference between the competition we faced is also completely different on our win loss nights. I’m not getting in the way of a mob wanting to get rid of Cliff, but it’s not solely him installing an offense and it being bad.
Yes, the first 4 teams were somewhere between bad and mediocre. Also none of them were both talented and physical.
Wait, the Portland trailblazers are a good team?

I’ll cherish that 5 minutes of floor time resulting in 1 rebound from Bolden in the 40 point blowout against the bucks. May his memory live on.

Word is he stole the gameball from bucks for the historic blowout to externalize his 1 rebound. Giannis is pissed

If you want a good breakdown of the recent improvements on our defense listen to the most resent “Dunker Spot” podcast. Released on Tuesday names versatility check. Around minute 36 they do an extended breakdown of the hornets.
A very very good listen. I haven’t heard a thorough discussion of the hornets like that in a hot minute. Great listen.
Edit: and Cody Martin discussion!!
I’m so happy Cody’s back and getting some recognition.
LaMelo, Cody, Miller, Miles & Mark; Mann, Grant & Micic is good 8 man rotation if we can get everyone fit. Richards & Curry ready to contribute, too.
Agreed. This is the version of Cody that we invested in. High level defense and energy, secondary playmaking and occasional shotmaking/creating. He’s finally healthy and back to doing the things that contribute to winning. Happy for him and for us.
absolutely. I think once his minutes go down, he’ll actually stand out more and play better. Along with less primary PG time. I think Cody is a fantastic 7/8th man to have who can play 20 minutes a game and do a little of everything. Even play third string emergency PG, or just be a secondary ball handler on offense occasionally. Good energy, high motor defense, he’s a try hard, can pass, get to the rim sometimes, and occasionally hit a corner three.
Go listen to that Dunker’s Spot podcast. The episode is Versatility Check and it came out on Tuesday. Hornets talk starts at 36:00. I listen to them occasionally, but one of the guys (Nevies Duncan) was a guest this week on the Zach Lowe podcast. He started to talk Hornets and Zach chuckles and says, (I’m mostly paraphrasing Zach Lowe)… “Okay, I’m giving you 30 seconds for Hornets talk. I will create a buzzer for Hornets defense talk. Tre Mann has been fun. Brandon Miller is a stud, they had a very good trade deadline. This is an organization to watch. The markets aren’t remotely similar, if we (Lowe and Bill Simmons) could take over one team it would be Phoenix. Because it’s a sleeping giant in terms of market appeal to NBA players and everything about it, and Charlotte is my Eastern Conference version of that…It’s a nice climate, players like it, players who have gone there like living there. It’s a basketball hot bed…that team when it’s popular dating to the 90’s when it came into the league and had the cool jerseys and stuff, it kind of just pops there. That’s my Charlotte elevator pitch.”
Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I think it’s good for perspective. Over the last 4 years, gordon hayward has played in 168 games. LaMelo Ball has played in 184 games over the last 4 years.
In the last two years Gordon Hayward has played 75 games. Melo has played 58 games over the last two years.
Yeah I feel bad for GoBobcats24 but this is some information that’s hard to overlook. I mean, I HATED Hayward and his situation here. So it makes sense why people are starting to get frustrated. I didn’t realize it was this bad already. I’m sure the organization wants (and probably has little other option at this point) to stand behind LaMelo for the future but If I were them I’d also start considering the spectrum of possibility for the best outcome for the team ahead.
Yeah I’m not even talking about melo’s game and I’m not talking shit about Melo. So no one come at me about that. But it’s a thing, and it’s worth addressing. Again, I like Melo.
We’ve given a guy 260m who has played as much as gordon Hayward the past 4 years and actually less games than Hayward over the last two years.
So yeah, I can often feel ways about the ankle brace thing. I love Melo, but we’ve got to figure this out.
Poku highlights with the swarm. He is probably a poor mans Markkanen at best, but I’d be ok with that. He could be a small ball C, and PF maybe.
