2023-24 Hornets General Discussion Thread

lakers aren’t dumb

Trading injury prone and near the end of prime for injury prone but not yet at prime?

I would love to have AD. He’s been one of my favorite players for about 10 years now.

Clarification - I would love to have him at a bargain basement price. But there is no way that AD wants to come to NC. But we can dream.

I want us to try to buy low on Lonzo.

I disagree with two of the three and I think we should get a winning vet to replace Micić on the roster. Yeah Bryce had a chance but didn’t prove himself this year.

For a trade to happen, someone else would have to be interested. No way Richards moves until the deadline, if he does.

Cody only moves if we take back a bad contract.

No one wants Bryce, dime a dozen player.

I think the absolute most likely traded Hornets player is Bertans because of his contract. I have no idea how he wasn’t mentioned.

I promise that I’m not shit posting, but hypothetically speaking, I’d entertain some trade scenario surrounding Melo and Kevin Durant. At this point, I’d rather pay KD 50m a season for two more years than pay Melo 5 years/260m.

Nothing of that will ever, ever, ever happen and I don’t need to be reminded. But the idea I don’t hate.

I would trade melo for Anthony davis

Davis wouldn’t play 30 games a season here. He literally “goes down with an injury” every single game. Even this season with the same situation and injuries he played through in LA he would have been sitting out in Charlotte. I would still trade for Davis but it would be a pick package, definitely not Lamelo.

I don’t watch the Lakers much but Davis plays most of the time. I watch the hornets often and melo doesn’t play after November

Davis was on every single injury report from end of November on this year. He literally has a new “injury” every single game.

You ignored what I said. Do you really think Davis would have played through the injuries he played through this season on the Hornets? The answer is no.

We all know you hate Lamelo so I’m not even going to comment on that even though he is the most talented player we have ever drafted and is 22.

How about Batum in the playoffs :joy::joy:

I guess that this is the right thread for this post. If this isn’t the right spot then PLEASE move it.

Glad something is recognized as well done. They really are top notch.

Should be #1 for making a terrible team on the court enjoyable to watch

Apparently the Pelicans are not going to extend Ingram who will be a free agent in 2025 and they are ready to move on from him. Assuming we’d have to sign him to a max extension in addition to the assets we’d have to give up for him in a trade, would it be worth it? Is now the time to make that move? A potential trade that was floated…

Hornets receive: Brandon Ingram

Pelicans receive: Davis Bertans, Grant Williams, Nick Richards, 2024 pick, 2026 pick (top-three protected, 2027 pick (via Dallas Mavericks or Miami Heat)

Is that too much?

I’m sorry but I’m not giving up 3 firsts for Ingram when we have Miller. If we didn’t have Miller it would be one thing. Ingram is a player that I like but isn’t a #1 option like everyone thinks he is.

For me, it’s the pick’s that’s the problem. Not the players. There’s no way that’s an equitable trade if they know they are losing him and there’s a big payment on the horizon for anyone to extend him.
