Do we go for cooper flagg now or what

Dalton Knecht had 37 points with 9 threes last night

Perfect situation for him. I am rooting for him.

Me too. Looks super solid for the most part so far. also had 18 straight points in that third quarter. That’s pretty fire

I think we were on the right track in wanting Knecht. He would’ve gotten a lot of easy looks with LaMelo too.

It seems criminal that he fell so low. I wonder if he was a bad interview or something. Yeah he’s older, but he can’t help having a late growth spurt in life. His 3-ball is effortless and he’s a dunk waiting to happen as well.

Oh well, we probably won’t know if Salaun was the right call for a long time, but at least the tools are all there.

He fell because we were taking him… and then we did not

I don’t know why but three days leading up to draft, he was the choice.

That’s why I did not believe the Salaun rumors. I’m not sure what happened.

This will be one of those picks to look back on. Under mj it probably would have been knecht (frank kaminsky, ammo, hendo, kemba) but they went young and unpolished.

The verdict will be in 4 years.

I think DSJ should come back to the Hornets as soon as we trade Micic for Robert Williams III.

Would like for DSJ to come back, but I guess he is waiting for a contender to call

I really really wanted Knecht the night he was torching Carolina. Not that that is always a good gauge (see Monk over Mitchell), but something about the ease of him getting buckets at the basket and from long range, of exerting himself until exhaustion and cramps dragged him out of the game. The never say die attitude from coming back from a huge deficit. I liked the size/shot/athleticism, and was wondering why he wasn’t hyped into the top 5-8 picks.

I do like the Salaun gamble, 19 year olds never come into the league at his height with that build already. He’ll be looking like Giannis (physically) in a couple more years. Has the foundation of a really good shot, seems like he works hard and is bought in. And I actually like the confidence to take shots, look for opportunities and being scared to try anything like most Hornets rookies look.

“mark Williams will return in the next 60 years” -coach lee

Yeah, I still think that Knecht should’ve been the pick there at 6. I know that I wouldn’t shut the fuck up about it leading up to the draft. Should’ve been Knecht. But it wasn’t. Salaun it is.

Regarding mark Williams-I actually choose to believe that mark Williams is not actually a real person. I think he’s a part of a shared group delusion, which is a very rare and unique psychological phenomenon. And I appreciate sharing this delusion with you all. I’d guess the mark Williams delusion is a manifestation of our hornets fans’ collective unconscious desires for a competent big man.

I’ll call this type of delusion, “the mark Williams phenomenon”, where basketball fans create group delusions out of deep desires to meet some emotional need for front court competency.

I think most FOs thought Knecht would be a good NBA player but questioned whether he could be a great one. He fell into the same trap every older guy does, the lure of the unpolished project, like Saluun versus the presumed high floor/low ceiling of a more established guy. I think a lot of teams over think it and talk themselves out of taking guys like him, especially in the lottery, but I guess I understand it to a degree. We’ll see if we got it right or made a huge mistake in a couple of years I guess.
