2024-25 Hornets' Postseason Moves

This is a great point and this is the method I prefer. I’m not opposed to trades, but I prefer trading talent for talent. I’m less concerned about acquiring picks and expiring deals. It was annoying that the old Hornets were always turning the roster over, but by turning LJ and Zo into Rice and Mason, and then eventually Rice into Eddie Jones and Elden, we maintained a competitive roster.

So I’m fine with trading Lamelo, but not for an old James Harden + middling picks and cap relief type deal. But if we could use him as the centerpiece of deal that could get us into the Giannis sweepstakes, or basically any other player that maintains or enhances our talent base, that’s what I’d want to see. I’m just not a fan of the burn it to the ground, hard reset approach, especially since our issue has more to do with availability than a total void of talent.

I don’t think anyone is wanting porzingis. We want his expiring contract and the two first round picks.

That would be a great deal for us.

Yes, his natural habitat, the injury report. It’s a perfect match

Thanks for explaining. Got it.

Why does boston do this

In this trade ghe celtics get 6 role players the lakers get their dynasty and the hornets get a borderline all star guard and a 1st round pick from the CELTICS i dont see why the celtics would do this

Some are saying CP3, I really want them to go after Macus Smart. Smart can play back up pg and sg. He has mental toughness, defensive chops and could help mentor Melo. He can also start if need be. Somehow get involved with any Rockets trade bring Jabari Smith and Cam Whitmore.

This held up well over time.

What about we trade #4 to Houston for #10 Jabari Smith and Cam Whitmore.

Long but interesting video (other than him saying we tried to scam the Lakers - THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING)… I’m not sure I’d trade for the player he did but I could see something along those lines with that idea in mind…

Summary:
The video lays out a realistic “Ideal Off-Season” plan to shift the Charlotte Hornets from perennial dysfunction to play-in contention by prioritizing culture, veteran leadership, and disciplined asset management.

Key Moves and Rationale

  1. Leadership acquisition: Trade Miles Bridges, Josh Green, Nick Smith Jr., and minor salary to Phoenix for Bradley Beal, leveraging Charlotte’s cap room. Beal’s on-court production and professional demeanor are framed as the stabilizing presence needed to mentor LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and the incoming rookie class.
  2. Draft strategy: Use pick #4 on VJ Edgecombe—an Anthony-Edwards-style athlete with shooting touch and defensive upside—followed by Danny Wolf (#33) to add a floor-spacing big, and shooter Kobe Brea (#34) for second-unit spacing.
  3. Roster clean-up: Retain high-energy role players (Josh Okogie, Grant Williams, Musa Diabaté) and jettison under-performing or culture-negative contracts. Offload Jusuf Nurkic’s expiring $19 M deal for Rashawn Holmes plus future seconds to free $13 M in tax space.
  4. Free agency: Re-sign combo-guard Tre Mann on a team-friendly three-year, $12.5 M-per-year pact; add low-cost veterans Seth Curry and Torrey Craig to bolster shooting, perimeter defense, and locker-room maturity.
  5. Targets for 2025-26: Stay below the luxury tax, field a rotation built around Ball-Beal-Miller with Edgecombe apprenticing, and aim for a competitive, injury-free season that tests whether the core is playoff-caliber before committing longer-term.

Every single hornets trade i have seen involves trading josh green :sob:

Yeap he’s a gonna

New Orleans would be a logical landing spot for mark Williams as they’re a team needing a center. I love Murphy and herb jones. Love those players, and the pelicans do too. I highly doubt they’d trade either guy.
