Edit*** I was mistaken he did wear them all of 2025. It was 2024 when he didn’t****

What? I’m sure every single person around Melo wanted him to wear ankle braces. What do you mean they wouldn’t get him custom braces? They can’t hold him at gunpoint and force him to force him to. You’d hope that an adult would take the initiative and just wear braces.
He wore damn ankle braces, can we stop with this narrative. He didn’t wear ankle braces at the start of 2023 because there were causing him SERIOUS pain, he then found some that worked last offseason and wore them. Why are we speculating he was being cheap and not buying them with zero information that that happened.

Ty Proctor
I am not trying to agitate by saying we should go after Lonzo. I think he would be a great addition to the team and would help us in ways that are not being contemplated.
Way too much gymnastics when the guy you’d want in that BOS firesale is Derrick White, if you are cutting bait with Ball, not Pritchard. We have zero use for Vuc at his age and value. And I can’t see BKN dealing their 8th and 19th pick in this draft for White.
Great to hear this update on Tre! Losing him was as crippling to our season as any of the injuries we dealt with. The only upside of him being hurt is that (hopefully) we can re-sign him now without breaking the bank. Re Lonzo: I’m not opposed to the concept of trading for him if it makes sense, but like others have said, I see no reason to force the issue. Besides, I’m much higher on Tre as a back-up PG than Lonzo.
On another note, I’m so tired of all these injuries and I wish all these guys well, but with Tatum, Hali and Dame all out for all or most of next season, it definitely creates an opportunity for upward movement in the east. I do think we need to add a culture vet (one who’s still productive, not another Taj) and re-sign Tre, but if we’re healthy ourselves there should be some Ws on the table that weren’t there before, especially with the C’s now apparently tearing down the house.

The only way I can figure out how we can roll roster-size-wise if we make all 4 draft picks and Jeff P. is intending to re-sign Mann is w/ no free agent vet moves and we cut Seth.
We have 12 standard contracts currently, plus Kon, plus Tre, plus Liam. I can imagine we cut Baugh to clear one of the 2-ways (say for pick 33) but I don’t see how we roster pick 34 unless we cut KJ (other 2-way) or waive a player.
I can imagine we could consolidate Jeffries into another contract to clear space but this feels really tight fitting (and we are destined to lose Taj and Seth - one of which I would have thought we’d prioritize to keep for the locker room).
Unless there is a trade in the works for an existing player where the hornets won’t be taking back equal number of roster spots
