The Pistons were 14-68 last year. In contrast we were 21-61 despite all of our injuries/suspensions. Who looked at the Pistons at the end of last season and thought, oh yeah they’re on the cusp of being a 6 seed next year. They add Tobias Harris (who most felt was an overpay), Hardaway jr. (Most of us wouldn’t have wanted at this stage for his contract), Malik Beasley (wouldn’t have expected to move the needle that much). They add solid vets, stayed relatively healthy and now look where they are. Theres no reason to think we couldn’t do something similar based on the talent we have and are bound to get in this draft. It’s gonna take some savvy (perhaps under the radar) moves and good health but we have the assets and flexibility to make it happen.
Adding coach JB Bickerstaff was one of their main catalysts also. I don’t think he gets enough credit as a coach at all.
yes, JB was a huge part of their success. DET seemed to wander the coaching desert for a while and have landed with a team builder. I hope (and think) we have the same in Lee. I am not kidding about the value of his rapport with the team - I think that’s huge. And I never could fully imagine that with Cliff who forever seemed like his words didn’t align with his actions in the coaching box. I could imagine a world where Cliff had the favorable ear of some of the team, but in that world, I can see where Lee would have the favor of the entire team.
I think hope of “trick-ing a team into giving us something nice for Mark.” went out the window with the Laker’s screwing us over.
Guess we’re rooting for the Hawks now!
Can we make a topic for just hornets highlights from 2024-25 cuz as a new hornets fan its hard to lose hope but highlights atleast show a sliver of hope left in us
Do you want to see clips of late game inbounds play turnovers after a timeout…. Bc we have enough to have a whole thread for that..
Eric collins “NOOOOOO AHDBKAHDIDSB ARE YOU KIDDING ME”
He’s an absolute treasure and we are lucky to have him.
Even if the Hornets were winning, wouldn’t be as fun without Eric and Dell.
For me, even losing Ashley was big.
The nba hosted a poll where they polled players anonymously and Charlotte was voted by far to be the worst organization
Yeah, seems about right
I would love to know why
Shocking. I know you all will shut it down immediately but this team is going to get relocated
Would save me a bleep-ton of money
If so, I’m done with the NBA. The attendance has been pretty good considering how bad the team has been. I’m not in the area, but I think Charlotte is supporting the team and would explode if they get competitive.
The IF in that post is 20 years of nothings
