2024-25 Hornets' Postseason Moves

Geeesssh…I was just about to ask. Thanks.

Anyway, I saw that OKC could be on the hook for $800 million.

I pretty much completely agree with this guy’s take on Lamelo and the team. While there are aspects of Lamelo’s game that are definitely frustrating and perplexing, at the end of the day, he’s just too talented to give up on. I also agree with him that we’re better served trying to acquire a talented vet to complement Lamelo and Brandon and make a push to try to win versus trading him and prolonging the rebuild. I trust this FO to be patient and use our assets wisely to find the right complimentary piece (a.k.a. our Siakam).

Sorry guys I thought it was time stamped

A superb and thorough analysis. The only bit I don’t really agree with is the level of perplexion over the roster not being ideally balanced and set to win as many games as possible (I hear this type of take a lot), while at the same time acknowledging that we’re rebuilding. We have accumulated player assets, on expiring contracts, who aren’t ideal fits but are rotation worthy. That’s absolutely fine with me.

The comment about making a win now trade in two years, which they doubted, is exactly what I would do. Maybe sooner.

  • I want to trade the likes of Sexton, Miles etc at the deadline, leaving us playing a 10 man rotation of LaMelo, Kon, Miller, Grant, Kalkbrenner; Mann, Sion, McNeeley, Salaun & Moussa and even more picks.
  • I want good odds at the Tier 1, potential all star, talents at the top of the '26 draft. If we don’t get lucky in the Lottery, I will likely want to trade up.
  • I want to have accumulated enough knowledge about the 10 man rotation shown above, such that we are poised to trade for a high level starter to fill the most pressing gap.
  • Finally, I want to get into the playoffs and be viable to get to the second round.

That’s my relatively simple hope for the next two seasons. I think we have to accept we’re rolling the dice with LaMelo, and his availability, and build accordingly.

yep thanks

Any hour now boys

We shall see

Well, we are going to have to make multiple moves regardless, we cannot carry this many players into Oct. And before that end, we have to make some decisions before July 15th with that being Okogie’s option date. So… something “will” happen, if that’s cuts or consolidation or big trade or whatnot is entirely dependent on what they can manage to pull together in LV is my guess. Feels like often that’s where a lot of deals get done.

Any rumors floating around that you’ve heard?

Yes, but has not happened yet. Think it’s a big move but has not happened. I guess we will see.

Are we the only team in the nba where players make sure the world knows they didn’t want to come here?

Or is it the framing of the media that covers the nba?

Man we have so many guards but I’d of loved to have had CP3 on the team, he could’ve played here on a vet-min till he was 45 for all I care

If he’s still ring hunting I guess it makes sense that he wouldn’t want to come here. I’m fine with it. If we couldn’t have prime 25 year old Chris, I’m not too broken up about not getting over the hill 40 year-old Chris.

It is good that we tried. We should offer him a coaching position when he retires.

Dinwiddie and Plumlee official.

Now, what about Okogie?

Something has to happen today or tomorrow.

And that’s where Giannis comes in

Watch these clips of Okogie. That’s why I want Okogie back. Guy was fantastic on defense. I know that roster spots are slim right now.

Thought his guarantee was pushed to today, think that’s normally a “by 6pm” thing.

7/15 deadline so they basically have today as their last day so that the trade can go through in time for the team that gets Okogie to cut him.
