2024-25 Hornets' Postseason Moves

Cowherd couldn’t be rooting against Charlotte winning hard enough

Been a lot of media coming out today against us getting the pick

Against us? Who?

Idk why but im very optimistic about getting the no.1 pick tonight. I know i know bery dumb but my fandom has taken a HUGE hit these last couple years. I need something to give me hope again. GIVE ME THAT NO.1 PICK!

If we dont get it ill be messaging my hornets therapist a.k.a Founding.:rofl::rofl:

I’ll be very happy with #1 or #2 and content with 3 or 4. Which means we get #5 tonight. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

But Mruph, we get #5, we are done paying penance. Entirely done. We get 6th or 7th, that means we have two more seasons of winter.

I will be mad if we get anything but 1 or 3

Too old to think in this dramatic way, but I’ve the sense that tonight I find out whether or not I attend another Charlotte Hornets game before death.

Cooper Flagg shouldn’t be that important, but with how things have gone for Hornets fans, you just start to think this way. Because it has ALREADY been completely over the top unrealistic, obviously in a bad way. More of the same nonsense is entirely possible.

It’s almost like we made a deal with the devil.

Satan: “Yes, I will give you LJ, Zo(later Rice), Baron, and Eric Collins, but beyond that, you shall suffer for all eternity…”

Hornets fans: “Sign us up! Yes!”

“Your Starter jacket will be the best selling jacket, but your soul then belongs to me.”

I don’t think this is dramatic at all. I mean, I’m still in my 20s. But it is crazy how apathetic I am towards this team at this point. I’m even one that doesn’t blame their awfulness on incompetency. It’s played a role, but I often think about how different the perception of us would be if we had just won one lottery we came close to winning. Especially the AD one.

I don’t really have the energy to sit there and critique every team this makes anymore. But it just feels like nothing is ever going to go our way. I would be genuinely interested to hear the statistical probability of us being this bad year after year and still never winning a lottery. I am confident that if you took our chance to get the top pick every year since 2004, it would be like over 90% likely that we should have won a lottery by now.

I’m just tired of getting my hopes up and having dreams for this team. A part of me will always love them, but I think I’m just accepting were the Bad News Bears of basketball.

Losing out on Flagg will be particularly frustrating because he fits the roster beautifully. You couldn’t design a better complement for LaMelo and Miller in a lab, and I truly think he will put winning above everything and won’t put up with this loser ass mentality that’s plagued our franchise forever. Harper will be good I guess. No one else in this draft is moving the needle for me.

LMAO!!

I was fortunate enough to visit Europe for a few weeks in the mid-90s(I’ve never been back out of the country since), and I saw Hornets clothes in multiple countries. After a long weary walk with my backpack on, Muggsy Bogues was smiling at me on a Sprite bottle at a convenience store in Copenhagen. The Hornets fashion really was a phenomenon. Keep in mind that this was before the internet was much of a thing anywhere, and you really were isolated from your home when you went on these trips, so a little hint of home was nice.

Thank you so much for the sentiment man.

This is the part where I’m supposed to say, “I’m old and you’re young, and you still have time to experience good basketball in Charlotte.” But, honestly, who really knows?

By my late 20s I was disliking the playing style of the NBA, but then things changed much for the better. Now, though, the pendulum of playing style has swung in a completely opposite direction, a little too far in my humble opinion, but these playoffs have been kind of refreshing from what I’ve seen.

Good luck on your path and Go Hornets!

Gentleman are super bowl starts in 45 minutes. We are the bills no longer!

One of our problems-- and I’d argue one that makes things much worse-- is that we’re rarely that bad and we’re rarely good. So we rarely are in contention for at top pick but never really making a playoff push either. (EDIT: we’ve averaged 32 wins a season since the first Bobcats season) I think that’s what’s so soul destroying about it is that there’s always the “if we can just…” feeling and yet we can never just.

It’s definitely been hard to be a fan of late, but I’m becoming less and less of a fan of sports in general. And it’s not because players are getting paid so much, like people claim about college sports. It’s more just that sports seems to occupy WAY too much focus for people along with it being clearly a business at all levels. Though, I’m ready to jump on the bandwagon for any of the local teams I’ve historically supported.

I just hope we land in the top 3. Getting the #1 pick is just to hard to believe in.

This is how I feel basically

I’ve just now started draft research but it seems like the consensus is that it’s Flagg, huge gap, Harper, then another sizable gap then not much separating the rest of these players. So if we don’t get 1 or 2 it really won’t make a big difference either way to me.

Not sure where you’ve been researching because there is definitely a pretty much a consensus top 4

Who’s 3 and 4? Hollinger has Ace Bailey at 12! Not saying I agree with that but things seem to get weird after the first two. I like Edgecomb’s fit here but there are real questions about his shotmaking upside
