2024-25 Hornets' Postseason Moves

Another year and we are hanging our hopes against the 86% chance of not getting number one.

This made me laugh out loud. Not good because I was at work and everybody knew that I was not getting anything done.

I will watch, probably not at work. Thanks for the content and I was glad to see your team up w Sam.

Dude we are soooo close to moving Josh to the bench. Come Monday you should be hyped about what is to come - the rookie Calvary!

You cooould look at it that way or you could look at it as us being one summer away from having 3.5 really good starters. Anthony Edwards was instant magic in a box and I believe that we will get the same lucky break w a top three pick. Melo, Brandon and Flagg, Harper or VJ and the .5 of the 3.5 would be Mark. The prospect of finally being on a good team should motivate Mark and frankly all of Hornet’s nation.

If we get a top 3 pick then all of this skepticism and pessimism should go out the door. We might even be okay w a top 4 or 5 pick.

We are close.

I can’t wrap my mind around us getting the number one pick so I’ve been like mentally prepared for a top 3-5 pick. As long as we get a top 4 pick I think we can say this team has taken another big step forward.

VJ and Ace both seem like future all stars to me. With VJ fitting our team better but Ace with the much higher ceiling.

If we fall to 5 I like Jeremiah Fears but I don’t think he’ll be a big difference maker for us out the gate.

I think this team absolutely needs cooper.

It’s going to happen bro

This is our year. Bobcats have never gotten #1. This is the year that changes. If we get Cooper Flagg, everything else will fall into place

I think based on law of averages, karma, and the general benevolence and decency of the basketball gods, we deserve this #1 more than any other team, across all sports, across all time and universes.

Being in the top 3, I feel its a good legitimate shot, as opposed to being #5 or 6 and hoping we get a lucky leap up.

But that nagging stat… there’s a 48% chance that we’re outside of the top 4. That’s a stupid high percentage for what misery we endured this year. I almost feel they should adopt the NHL rules, only draw for the the first 2 picks, and you can’t jump more than 10 spots.

And also, is tankathon’s algorithm for the lottery sim off? There are constantly teams jumping 5, 6, 7 spots every spin, and we always end up dropping 2-3 spots. Moreso than what the actual results normally show. Maybe one big jump and everything else settles close.

I’m going to ignore the noise though and try to manifest this top pick though. The lottery viewing might be more stressful than the Wemby sweepstakes, but I’m ready to know.

are we sure it’s an algo and not just a plain random number generator? It wouldn’t be hard to apply the NBA’s weighting but I agree with you, it does seem way more erratic than I’d expect with the given percentages per flight.

This positive energy is exciting! The number one pick would be the ultimate signal to the league that things are different in Charlotte. If we get the 2 or 3, then people will doubt and forget us by the end of summer. Okay fine use that as fuel this fall.

How about some “hype you up” noise from the 90s:

We need to pick 5th and be forever done with our penance. Anything better and we are tempting the Ready Rule to strike whomever down with all the might from all the gods. Heaven only help Cooper or Dylan if we luck into and draft them.

We get the 4th pick I’m taking Kon Knueppel!

Hopefully your name isn’t Jeff Peterson

I have an out-of-the-box comp for Kon Knueppel.

A decent mix of Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin. But probably the dollar store version.

I’d be willing to give up a decentpackage to get Bam

For the next 2 days put it all up to the bball gods. From there the path will present itself for us. Let’s hope they hear our calls.

Lakers will give up everything else they have to give

Tonight Cooper Flagg finds out whether or not he will stay injured for half of his NBA career…

As a deeply entrenched member of Gen X, I’m hurt that you wrote The Final Countdown was from the '90s… :slightly_smiling_face:
