Can they just knock it off already!? It seems like they won’t be content until they have absolutely wrecked this kid’s future earning potential.

Yeah, Mark definitely stands the most to lose. But if he stays healthy next year and plays well, he could get a nice extension. He’ll be an RFA after next year. I still think he’ll be traded this summer if they get a good offer. There was something more than just the Lakers offer that made them trade him, I think.

So I guess this article is just a desperate attempt by the Lakers to save face after getting manhandled by Gobert and co. It does feel unethical at the very least, and borderline illegal that they continue to damage Mark’s earning potential in this way, especially since the “concerns” around his health have never really been substantiated. Just accept that you might’ve made a mistake by getting cold feet and pulling the plug on this trade, and that that decision might have meant the difference between advancing in the playoffs and not.

Bingo. Well said

It’s interesting (if there’s any shred of truth to the article) that Luka hand picked Mark as a trade target. I think it would’ve really elevated his game playing with Luka and Lebron, as much as I would have hated to see him helping the Lakers.

Attendance is pretty close for all the teams. From the highest attendance which ave of 20K to the lowest 16K a game. Not a huge difference. Hornets are roughly 17K a game, If we win a few more games we could move up the ladder easily.

So are we all getting excited, nervous for the draft lottery next week. I’m kinda feeling like i just want it done now so we can accurately speculate on who will be available to draft. I find before the draft it’s little point in doing so as we all would jump at drafting Flagg but if we drop down to 2 i’d say 99% we won’t get that chance.

Add our 2025 First Round Pick and some other first round picks we have… Find a Center and we’re all set! Playoff bound baby!

Ball, Miller, Bridges, Flagg, Giannis. As a starting 5 if you want Giannis at the 5 is a play off team.

Strength in depth on the bench might be interesting as well Grant Williams, Mann, TS, Diabate, KJ, Seth, Jeffries. I’d like Danny Wolf maybe have to trade up for him though.

Only thing missing is the true centre, I’d love to keep Williams but you’ve got to give up something on the Giannis deal

Lol, you are responding to a trade proposal that nba2k guys would laugh at as unrealistic

The only way Giannis ends up in Charlotte would be lamelo + pick platter

Didn’t Bridges say Williams is not that motivated that he has to stay on top of him?

Yeah people are not hyped up yet. Combine that w the fact that we got screwed in the lottery last year and there is a reason to be cautious. If we get a top 3 pick (Flagg, Harper or VJ) then we are set to win A LOT more games next year. We are closer than people want to believe. If we get Ace then it’s gonna take some time - maybe even another year. A forced Ace pick (who the heck else will we pick at four?) can be remedied w high quality vet signings.

That is exactly what was said. Then the coaches gave up on Mark instead of trying to light a fire under Mark’s @ss. Then comes along the Lakers with their 2024 throw away pick - Dalton - and we made a bs short sighted trade that I would expect from Jordan. Mark is far too talented to give up on just yet (that is why Luka approved the trade!)

Be a professional organization and buy the services of a sports psychologist for Mark! You say its different okay show me!

So true. But it’s a cruel cruel world my friend. Clearly the Lakers know how to play the game and we are the amateurs. (Where is our effort to punch back?) In fact, their bad mouthing of Mark just might benefit us when it comes to re-signing him. We don’t know what we have in Mark. At the very very least if he continues to be sidelined, then we have a high quality backup center. We are at a point now when we should start thinking about building depth. But again coaches and management seem to be shortsighted when it comes to Mark.

Damn thats depressing to look at.

I’m hyped up at the possibility that at some point “Hornets Law/Ready Rule/Spectrum Center built on ancient Native American burial ground curse” has to subside, and the general law of averages will prevail, and we will get to have three good players play 60 plus games in a season. One more lottery selection adds to that pool of possibilities, I guess.

Some of these NBA playoff games have had some entertaining finishes. I can’t wait to see the Hornets play in something meaningful and hard fought.

I fear we must sacrifice this draft to rid ourselves of the Ready Rule. We drop to 5th and complete our penance. If, heaven forbid, we get #1, that poor kid and his injury potential.
