Ashley announced yesterday she is with ESPN College Football now
I find it completely ridiculous that in this age, there are still local blackouts. Basically the only way to reliably get the hornets on Bally is to keep cable.
If you buy a leagues broadcast package like league pass you should get all of the teams.
I’m sure she will do a great job! Will definitely miss her on Hornets games. EC, DC, and Ashley were as good a broadcast team as there is.
Edit: after further review, maybe she’ll still do hornets games.
Agree 100%. I have league pass on YouTube TV. It’s a good deal. But if I were a Hawks or Grizzlies fan, I would be out of luck, other than cable. All sports leagues have got to rethink how fans view their teams. Blackout rules just plain suck.
Hate it. So stupid that we have to buy a special channel I otherwise have no interest in just to watch my hometown team’s games.
Seems positive that it’s a coach with experience rather than someone from deep in the ranks. Very impressed with Peterson’s approach at every step so far.
Another good hire on paper. I’m not used to the hornets being able to hire competent coaches. I’m used to them spending as little as possible to hire the deep dive kind of guys on the cheap.
I’ve had good luck streaming online for free. I just airplay it from my phone to my tv. I’d say most of the time it works great actually.
Bally sports can gargle my bally-sack.
I’ve used the “free” streams before. It can get aggravating finding a good stream that has the hornets broadcast, so I got league pass on YouTube TV. I know that’s not an option for those of you in the Carolinas, but it works well for me.
How much was league pass through YouTube tv? I’m in NC (by far the best Carolina), but I’d just use a VPN to bypass. According to my VPN I live overseas
I’ve been able to find hornets broadcast streams most of the time on what I use. Happy to share via message.
Last year it was $109.49. that’s the entire league. All games except your local team (Hawks and Grizzlies for me), national broadcasts, and you can watch on as many devices as once as YouTube TV allows, which is 3, I think. The multiple devices was a big deal for us. When I had team pass, we could only watch on one device.
eh… Top 2. Maybe.
Guys, in totally forgot we signed taj Gibson. I must’ve immediately forgotten after the signing haha. I was thinking about the roster this morning and thought “I have to be missing someone”.
Melo/Mann/Micic
Green/Martin/Curry
Miller/Martin/Salaun
Bridges/Grant/Salaun
Mark/Richards/Gibson
That’s the active 13. With NSJ and Moussa Diabate rounding out the 15, for now.
I’m keeping an eye on Keyontae Johnson as I’m assuming he’ll be playing in Greensboro for a while. Good NBA size (strong, 6’11” wingspan), three point shooter, can draw fouls. And just a good story all around.
I still wish bridges was off the roster. But alas, here we are.
Worst case scenario: 26-29 wins
-Melo can’t stay healthy, too much pressure on Miller who will try to overcompensate and have a slump season in which he’s an inefficient offensive player. Mark Williams is still not physically ready and looks like it’s time to move on from him.
Best case: 42-44 wins
Melo stays healthy, Miller shows no signs of slowing down his development, Mark doesn’t skip a beat and looks like who we’ve seen before. Coach Lee is a pure blessing from the basketball gods, and can do things like draw up a real in bounds play for example. And Salaun is a raw yet exciting role player during year one and looks like his role can be expanded next year.
Most likely: 34-36 wins
Melo still has injury issues, Mark starts off slow and is limited for the first half of the season, Miller hits a little bit of a sophomore wall. Salaun plays little and looks really raw. But the coaching and role players are solid enough to show signs of life despite stretches of growing pains.
Lottery here we come!
“No chance” is a little strong. Would’ve been interested to hear his rationale for that opinion if he’d bothered to offer one. Totally depends on health. If healthy we are definitely primed to make a move. I think Miller may be the most slept on player in the league.
Being genuine here, why would that be of interest? He’s not particularly thoughtful, insightful, introspective, or likely to spend much energy on anything but ratings generation. Unless he’s dramatically transformed himself recently (which I can’t imagine possible).
Stephen A Smith has as much to offer the sports commentary world as Bally Sports has to offer sports streaming services.
Stephen A saying that means we’re going to the finals
Interesting that Sam and Brice have Miller and Ball in their top 13 rankings in the 24 under 24 (Game Theory Pod). Miller was 4th IIRC, which ids Ball’s rank. With good health and getting back to his average this year, would expect Ball far higher next year where he’s still eligible.
