Well, we are within a month of the NBA trade deadline. Might as well start the thread. I’m curious to see what happens this time around, especially if our guys stay healthy and keep playing competitive games.
With the return of Josh green and soon return (I think?) of Grant Williams, we have but so many minutes to go around.
I feeel like with this team, we need all the depth we can get.
but it seems like Dalton Knecht has fallen out of the.lineup for the Lakers. I wonder if he could be had for cheap? I think he still has a lot of promise.. it’s just any rookie on a LeBron team is going to struggle. Even Alston Reeves is struggling playing with that guy.
I know what to say, absolute BS and Kendrick should know better than to put this absolute drunken conjecture out there. Makes 0 logical sense too. So right on par for Perk
I can’t post on the main 2025/26 season thread because of the two post max limit here, so I’ll put this here:
per Zach lowe on his podcast from Monday 1/5, with the trio of Melo/Kon/Miller on the floor in a small sample size of 213 minutes the hornets are +34 this season. And that’s prior to the Thunder game. That is shaping up to be a good core trio…if they can stay healthy.
If that’s true, I think that says a lot about Trae, which would line up with sentiment. I just don’t think he aligns with any serious playoff team’s goals. Granted, Luka is a non defense oriented PG, but he’s a transcendent player out of Trae’s level. Young is very good, but not Luka good.
I didn’t watch Zach Lowe but I believe we are 8-4 when Kon, Melo and Miller all play together. I see no reason to trade Melo at all and we should continue to build on this core group by adding depth.
I wonder if the Grizzlies would be interested in giving us a 1st round pick for Miles, and also throw in GG Jackson who I think has a lot of untapped potential. Personally I’d give up a straight 2nd for Jackson
What type of package with Milwaukee 2031 unprotected #1 could the hornets get if they traded melo to Milwaukee?
Evan Sidery on X: “The overwhelming majority among rival executives is the Bucks will make an aggressive trade to appease Giannis Antetokounmpo before the deadline. Instead of trading Giannis, it’s more likely Milwaukee offers up their 2031 1st-round pick in a deal to make one last win-now push. https://twitter.com/esidery/status/2009255306111369546/photo/1 ” / X https://share.google/2221qzaMXfDRaScga
I don’t think they trade Melo, it doesn’t make a lot of sense right now. Like some others have said, Miles seems to be the “big” name that makes sense to be moved.
We gotta extend Miller soon, and giving Miles another contract doesn’t make sense with other options like Tidjane and Grant that can play his role in the lineup as a bridge to the next starter.
