2025/26 Trade Deadline

You’re probably correct. That cap hold in onerous at 20 min a game

We’ve already had the Trae Young trade go through. Now let’s see what happens with a Ja Morant trade. A Morant trade package is what I’m most interested to see in terms of what the cost is. Just to be clear, Ja and Melo are very different players. But they do have three things in common:

-not known for defense

-frequently injured

-public perception wonders if they’re interested in real, serious basketball.

Between the Trae trade and a (probable) Ja Morant trade. I think that’ll give a little info to work off of to better understand Melo’s hypothetical trade value. I simply cannot figure out where Ja fits or who would want him, or what he would even cost.

You’d think he would be an electric fit in Miami, but Spo would absolutely kill Morant. If Ja doesn’t like the current system run in Memphis, oh boy, he’s not going to like Miami.

I really hope we don’t trade Lamelo. The team is honestly looking a lot better. Im sure if he gets hurt again, I may think differently, but I just find it hard to do it.

Ja’s value I think is significantly lower. He is a small player who relied on athleticism. He is now oft injured and regressing in shooting year over year.

Im hoping for a quiet deadline. Feel like the summer this year is the best time to reset.

Hornets gm would not be doing his job if he didn’t call and offer a base package of melo, miles, 2026 #1 unprotected and miami pick for giannis

Yeah I agree Chef I bet this already happened but at this point Giannis claiming he will “never” ask for trade from Bucks. I would do what I could to offer the farm outside of LaMelo Brandon and Kon because ultimately you want Giannis to be surrounded with shooting and a legit PG. And the Lamelo Giannis Pick and roll would be insane.

We have the assets to be able to offer enticing picks like 2027 Dallas and Miami, Future Suns picks and our own and obviously we also have 2 first in 2026. I would be good with throwing every bit of draft capital we have to throw at Giannis.

If you consider yourself a legitimate franchise that is serious about winning, you have to submit a package. You can’t win the lottery except if you buy a ticket (unless you trade a superstar to an NBA/Silver approved franchise).

Milwaukee’s situation is untenable. I know they don’t want to trade Giannis, but it’s not going to work. They’ve made the worst coaching hires you could possibly make, should’ve never traded Jrue, who was key to the culture setting. They have to reset.

I doubt it’s possible, but if there was a world where we could keep Melo, Miller, Kon, and have Giannis starting, they can have whatever else they want on the team. Want all our other young rookies? Bye Sion, Liam, and Ryan. 3, 4 first rounders, pick swaps. We’ll take Giannis’ brothers too. If Salaun has played himself into a positive asset, include him too. Miles and Collin needed for their salaries to match.

There aren’t many opportunities for a team to go all in to create a winner. We’ve never been a winner. That 4some would be impossible to guard. Giannis with all that spacing? Kon with even more open looks? It may not work out, but its better to at least try, otherwise we’ll be on the sub mediocre bridge for the next 2 decades as well.

That won’t happen. They would require melo. I would easily do it. I would then sign cp3.

Sexton/cp3

Miller

Kon

Grant or giannis

Giannis or kaulk

You have two years and po #3 with giannis to solidify pg

We have the ammo to trade for Giannis but we’d basically only be in a slightly better position than the Bucks are right now. Giannis has 1 year left on his contract basically after this year and he’s more than likely be unhappy coming here. We’d have to very quickly make moves to appease Giannis and lock him down.

This is why if you trade for Giannis you have keep LaMelo Brandon And Kon or it doesn’t make sense

Lamelo and Giannis with the lob threat would be unstoppable. I like him though because he doesn’t seek the limelight and has been happy with the Bucks for a longtime now, which isn’t a big team/city

Do you think it would be smart to give up Lamelo and alll that for Gianniis, with his age? I know he’s not old but I all don’t see him improving and I feel his game is mostly basked on athleticism bc he’s not a good shooter. Once his athleticism drops, will he still be elite? Just wondering anyone else’s thiouughts. I could be insane though… I’d still be stoked to get him.

but if we do give up a lot, why would he be happier here than the Bucks? I know he’s only 31, but would he drop off in a few years?

I don’t want any long term deal with melo so giannis age is moot comparatively

Giannis has this year and next with PO the third. So he definitely has a year and half and could definitely take his option.

I just dream of Lamelo and Giannis on the court together. But, I’m sure they would have us give up Miller or Kon… and Im not sure I really want to do that.

Kon is a no go for me

I would give Miller before Kon. I’m cooling on Miller.
