I am thinking that various sports broadcast rights could be up for grabs next year after the Warner Brothers split.
cute + anything that gets you noticed = fame
I think a lot of us have been feeling the commentary in this article. Itâs very possible that if I didnât have HornetsPlanet as a connection, I wouldnât be a fan anymore. Iâll add, Iâm all good with players (including college) getting more money. They deserve it given how much money is getting made because of them. But all these media deals and just the practical part of easily finding a game, makes being a fan frustrating. And at some point, I wouldnât even say frustrating; I just donât care anymore.
Yes the media deals are a problem. A BIG problem. But from the business prospective, you try to squeeze all the money that you can from your customers. Itâs a harsh reality. There really isnât any mercy.
A decent F150 starts a $50k and the average family income is about $80k. Ford is not going to make that truck more affordable. I shop at thrift stores and they are jacking up the prices.
I do have ESPN+ and I get fairly decent college and international sports from it. ESPN is supposed to come out w a new service this fall but I expect it to be obscenely expensive. Donât get me started on the regional services.
Separate note: Iâve always respected Jeff Teague. Itâs good to hear his thoughts:
I get the concept of get what you can. I guess I wonder for how long? Will there be a point where kids didnât grow up watching the games and enjoying talking about them, and instead theyâre focused on esports or something else? Will they be able to sustain this for another 30 years?
I donât know when it endsâŚuntil the consumer is on the ground and bleed dry? I donât know but that is the current culture of business today and that is no different for accessing games. Itâs good that you see it but I donât think there is anything the regular guy can do.
I heard of some people (idealists) saying there is a burgeoning awakening of class (as in non rich folk getting together) consciousness but I will believe that when I see it. For now, people will just take the abuse or be placated. Case in point, âHouse of Highlightsâ on YouTube. Its a TNT Sports product that again keeps people away from the traditional product.
Example, here is the âfull gameâ in case you missed it:
To you and me this might not be acceptable but the kids apparently like this stuff. A watered down version of the product that is a hit among younger folk.
Checking in on Coop!
Hails to the yea yay!
They look good too
A W.N.B.A. Star Loves These Sneakers. She Gets Fined for Wearing Them.
When an upstart womenâs shoe brand made a sponsorship deal with Courtney Williams, a Minnesota Lynx all-star, it put the hugely popular league in an awkward position.
Natalie White founded Moolah Kicks on the conviction that a sneaker brand catering exclusively to women and girls could outpace the big industry players.

It wasnât until Courtney Williams, the all-star guard for the Minnesota Lynx, sat down at her locker before a game on July 3 that she realized something was missing. The logos on her multicolored basketball sneakers were gone.
Someone had carefully colored in and taped over the brand icons, camouflaging them so that they would not be visible to fans, television cameras or still photographers. It was a tiny redecorating job, performed by a team employee, but without it, Williams might not have been allowed to play in the game.
It was all part of a quiet but escalating tussle within the W.N.B.A., the most prominent womenâs sports league in the world, which has a strict uniform policy. By rule, players are allowed to display the logos of any sneaker brands they want â as long as those companies have contracts with the league.

Maybe he should start w that $7k a month in car related expenses. If you are not making the money then cut back! Way back.
Great, now the NFL will be unwatchable with sound. ESPN destroys everything it touches.
I am a fan of the WNBA. I am. But, this makes me wonder - what the heck:
Oh boy. I am telling you now, great ready for Kobeâs warped version of history to be told on the big screen:
Welp you just might get that alternative to ESPN/ABC youâve clearly been hoping for:
Hmm
I just donât get why local/regional blackouts still apply to the league pass/Sunday ticket/center ice packages.
