Draft Prospects 2021

OMG. His nickname is ā€˜Plumdog Millionaire’

Is Mason substantially different than Miles Plumlee as far as game? That’s really pricey for 37th pick if he cannot be an off the bench center.

Seriously, he’s 6-11, a plus defender, and averaged 10.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game last year. His numbers look better than some of the other names that were tossed around.

He’s a solid big imo

Solid and plus-defender, consider me excited if that’s our new backup C.

Certainly better than anyone we had last year

I’m actually really excited at having a shot at picking in the mid 30s. Robinson-Earl, Wieskamp, Grimes, JT Thor, Day’Ron Sharpe??? All would be cool as hell at 37.

So basically we move up 20 spots in the draft (from 57 to 37) and add a backup center (hopefully) taking on his salary for Detroit?

Saw Sharpe mocked in the top 25 a few times today

Nice move Kup

I like it

I hope he’s our backup but even if for some reason he ends up being our starter he’s a step up from what we had last year

I really don’t care enough about moving up 20 spots to no.37 to have taken on a Plumlee. I’ve met my quota, thanks.

Prou, my first reaction was that it was Miles again and I about lost it haha - took me several minutes to resettle.

He’s also an excellent passer. He’ll fit right in with Ball.

I’m sold. This evening is already off to a really positive start IMO. And I am really happy about 37

The first time we traded for a Plumlee I initially thought it was Mason and was excited

Me too. I’m not a fan of any of them, but Mason is hands down better than the others. Still, wasn’t the guy I had in mind. So many of our problems at center have been consistent - inability to switch/play defense on the perimeter, inability to space the floor, and overall inconsistency on offense… Plumlee looked solid last year, and is solid inside, but I don’t see how he assuredly fixes any of those issues.

I know it’s one move, but I’m just not a fan of using cap when none of those issues were addressed with this trade.

Plumlee is a better defender, rebounder, passer and wont drop the ball or miss a layup when LaMelo whizzes a pass inside.

If he’s our starter it’s pretty meh but he’s better than Cody or Biz
