I hate to lose but imagine how good we can be when healthy.
If I was a Knicks fan I would hate Randle
Thanks Randle let’s get a better shot this time
PJ you idiot. I’m sorry dude, but that’s an inexcusable mistake. Cmon guy. That’s like a WR on 4th down running his route short of the sticks.
Not really gonna blame PJ there just bad luck
It’s like a WR on 4th down running his route short of the yardage needed for the 1st down, but making an amazing catch…that is short of the 1st down. It drives me crazy
My LP stream has been lagging, but regardless of the outcome, we played really well with 3 core players missing.
I might just be a homer but I still think that might’ve been a three
Awesome effort man. I’m proud of these guys. Full strength Knicks and take their ass to the wire.
Gotta get these ankles strong!
I would trade mason immediately so Clifford can’t play him
Bouknight needs to be traded while he has some value. He isn’t very good at all.
Dsj may be found money. Someone said a Marcus smart comparison, I like that comp right now. He’s tough and gritty.
After Nic really showed out these first three games, I was surprised to see Clifford kind of shy away from Richards this game. Nic had been getting some run.
I liked what I saw from Theo Maledon. DSJ is a straight up dog. Tough dude. McDaniels will be a critical staple in our rotation. Gordon Hayward looks old out there.
Hayward will look better with Melo and Rozier back, his role right now is a top 2 option with Kelly and while that may work for a game or two, I don’t think he can sustain that every night obviously.
Hayward helped win that game. He 100% was the organizer of that offense. He is the only one who functionally moves without the ball both for himself and for others. His bbiq is incredibly high
He is, and I agree. He just missed some very timely shots and had a few poorly timed turnovers in important moments that I found frustrating
Mason hasn’t been awful, but I’d like to see his minutes flipped with Nick’s. Given how well Nick has played, I’m having trouble understanding why he was only on the floor 19 out of 53 minutes while Mason played 31.
I haven’t really watched DSJ closely since college but seeing him this season, it’s hard to understand why he hasn’t been able to stick with anyone before now, especially given how strong he is defensively and as a playmaker.
We are deep. I love the bounce and confidence Jalen is playing with. And I know a lot of people are down on Bouk, but man, his athleticism and offensive ability are intriguing. Wish we could find a few more minutes for Thor. He seems to make good things happen when he’s on the floor. Tough break for PJ getting KD’d on that last 3, but we really had no business being in that game to begin with. I respect the effort. I really enjoy watching this team play.
Don’t read my post as he is awful. In reality, if you are playing for the most wins (which I am not!) he should start and is the best center right now. However, he is destined to help lead to 30-41 wins and bury Williams on the bench which is worst case scenario for me.
Me saying trading him is like a wife selling her husband’s motorcycle before he has a chance to lay it down and make her a single mother for the three months he recuperates. Sure, it’s a great way for him to blow of steam and get in the right mindset to be an active father but in the end it just sets the family back.
My post wasn’t directed at you, although I could see why it may have seemed that way. It was just more a general statement. I agree with your rationale, but in addition to that, I think Nick is just better. Not as experienced for sure, but I think he has the capacity to do more and will only continue to get better the more he plays.
The biggest revelation to me this year is… Cliff really knows how to coach offense. We’re actually somehow leading the NBA in points per game and in the top 10 in rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. We also are leading the league in 3 point shooting % while also only shooting the 24th most 3s. Shows we’re not just gunning 3s, but actually moving the ball to find good open 3s.
And this while missing our top 3 scorers from last year, minus the first 2 games for Terry. As much as we all were joking about Cliff returning, he really is the perfect coach at this precise moment of time. It coulda gone sideways real quick (still could…) but his communication and accountability seems to have brought a belief an cohesion I wouldn’t have thought after the offseason from hell.
I also don’t understand how DSJ hasn’t stuck, maybe it really was all situational. He has good size, plays really hard, is super athletic, but counter to the league narrative - has shown actually pretty good basketball IQ, has been in good control, looks to set up teammates instead of looking out for himself, great at cutting and finding an open spot, awesome defender. He’s playing like the lottery pick he is, I think he’s a piece we should keep long term.
From what I read, he wasn’t playing or signed anywhere because he didn’t understand basketball, but that seems so far from the truth, I wonder if it was Thibs that tanked his value.
Theo another great underrated pickup from the big Mitch upstairs. Maybe this sounds crazy, his game kinda reminds me of a young… Tony Parker? With the speed and control, and nice touch around the lane. Apparently he’s French and does wear #9 too. But to have a good 3rd PG after living life with Brian Roberts and Jannero Pargo, Sharron Collins, Jorge Guttierez, Briante Weber, Julyan Stone, its completely unexpected to see…competence, if not actual skill there.
And Bouk looked really good this game. I mean hitting shots will always make you look better, but he actually looked nice on defense, sticking to Quickley and Brunson and forcing a turnover or two on the ball. He’s been a knucklehead, but the last couple games showed me he might have something brewing, if he can keep his mind clear.
We interrupted his play very differently. I just didn’t see it. He’s a fish out of water.
With respect the rest of your post, I think the players you mentioned give even more reason to move Terry
If we’re going by the first couple games and all the preseason games, I’m with you completely.
But THIS game, he was objectively very good. Decision making was on point, did not rush at all, made the right reads, and played good defense. It stood out to me along with DSJ, Jalen, and Theo as surprising good things.
And in the context of knowing his inability to make many positive plays in said preseason and early games, somebody made a clip of him making the correct reads for at least 8 buckets. In one whole game. Didn’t even show his good defense either.

Can he be consistent is another question, which I know you have doubts, but this game showed it is in him at least.
