Hilarious and sad! I was watching 12 year old teams getting taught about yelling “Switch” last week. Never thought about someone having to teach that to pro players. Ouch!
Hopefully today is better. It really looked like they just threw random players out there and said “go play”.
Bryce is kinda over rated so far. He flashed early last season but needs to start hitting the 3 ball again. I like him and I like Boukenight but they both gonna take another year or so before they reach their potential, I hope. It’s hard to show much improvement when you only get 5-10 minutes per game if you play at all. Hopefully, they both can start showing some dominance in summer league before it’s over and during training camp/preseason against the vets. They got to improve on defense more than anything!!
I hope Miller shoots it 50 times
I’ll have to watch this one recorded later tonight. Here’s my fun prediction: Nick Smith Jr. will have a great game. and I’m with Founding, I hope Miller puts the ball up A LOT.
Over 1 shot per minute… sounds doable.
Ball movement, basic team defence and communication.
If players don’t get back on transition D, sub them off. If players aren’t taking coaching from the practice court onto the game court, sub them off. Set some damn standards for effort and carrying coaching onto the court.
is open
Nick Smith Jr. and Amari Bailey could very well end up being as impactful as "It's Miller Time!" is. I would not be shocked if Smith Jr. and/or Bailey end up being just as good as Miller is. They have a lot of potential.
You heard it here.
are there any way to watch a replay of these summer league games? I didn’t get a chance to watch very much of this one.
Don’t do it
Cmon man….
I just want to see nick smith jr and amari bailey. And the Nnaji kid. Those three.
Amari Bailey and Nick Smith Jr. both possess really high end talent and could be very good players. I happen to think Miller will be a good player. I don’t see why there isn’t a world where one of Bailey or Smith Jr. plays up to Miller’s level.
I see nothing that separates NSJ from Bouk right now. Other than that he does seem to try which actually is a big deal. But I really really want to see him start looking to create for others
So far for "It's Miller Time!" through two SL games: 10AST/9TO. 13 fouls in 58 minutes. He’s absolutely reproducing his collegiate assist to turnover ratio. That’s translating accurately.
I can’t wait to watch this unfold as the season goes on. He’s off to a great start.
But to be completely fair, there is zero effective pg play and negative zero offensive game plan.
The first will definitely change in October. The second probably not
We get it that you don’t like the kid. I wanted Scoot or to trade the pick. But he is ours and you are out of your mind if you think either one of this guys are even close to Miller. I’d rather have Bouk than them.
You’d rather have Bouk than either Nick Smith Jr or Amari Bailey? You’re joking right?
I’m not saying that I 100% believe that NSJ or Bailey are as good as, or better than Miller. I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn out to be nearly as good as Miller, or up to his level. They have that potential, and it’s why the Hornets took a swing on them. We’ll see how it looks in the next few years.
So far through two games Miller does deserve to be cut some slack because whatever it is we’re running isn’t anything close to an actual NBA offense. There’s minimal movement, it’s just a bunch of guys dribbling around trying to play hero ball and no one is getting good shots off. This is an awful environment for him as at this point of his career he feels more like a player that needs help creating his shot. On the flip, I also think it’s fair to expect a #2 overall pick to have more success creating his own shot in summer league so far. When he tries to create he doesn’t have the burst to get by defenders nor does he have the strength to earn a bucket. These were well documented red flags of his game coming out of Alabama. If he’s going to REALLY hit, he’s likely going to need to become a savant in the midrange area. I do think he’s bendy enough to really develop as a shot creator at the second level, he really hasn’t had a chance to display it in SL though.
