As for making them comparable, I am not. I am however very aware how difficult it’s been to void nba contracts outside of drug violations.
You are totally reaching - reaching for generalizations. My guess is that most contracts are fairly standard due to the union’s influence. But each player engages in his own negotiations; consequently, we don’t know what these players agree to or what is demanded of them individually. Even if someone posted an actual NBA contract we cannot generalize that one document to each player in the league. A public database can’t help you (or any of us) here.
If Miles is on the team next fall then the FO needs to drop the hammer on his @ss via the contract. That might be the only language that Miles will understand.
Anyway, wild @ss speculation is fun but it’s just speculation.
Just clicked the link. That is not his contract, Sprewell lost, his lawyers got sanctioned and the case is over 20 years old. I don’t see the relevance.
If both sides hold onto the existing QO contract, which would require Miles’ agreement to terminate, I understand because the team does not have control of that. Anything they do otherwise to normalize this, I will look to terminate my contract with them over my season tickets.
The discussion around this current strand began with
can you imagine if he had signed a max deal with the hornets and this news broke a day later.
Everything is speculation around that since in this thread.
I will strongly assert that the NBA/NBAPA/CBA make for extreme difficulties in terminating contracts outside of drug violations explicitly. If you want to argue with someone, find someone other than me.
Did anything happen yesterday in court? I can’t find anything
Continued again until October 7th
Not a lot out there
The athletic & other twitter rumors say moved again to October 7th
A few items are about to come to light here…
Like what. Please tell us.
It it wasn’t for the DA, Gascon, the Bridges case would have already been dismissed.
Gascon has been the lightest on crime in LA history, but wants to “make an example” of Bridges.
I bet it ends up dismissed anyways. Money wins in LA.
Thankfully, in all of the other cities, virtue and ethics win.
I wish that was the case
She is a multi millionaire. Why is she seeking free talk therapy through the social media ether? I am baffled by the usage of social media to project the most personal details of one’s life to strangers who may or may not care.
With that said we now have the status update that we wanted!
Changed the title of the thread since it’s become the main thread for discussing this entire terrible situation.
Wow, so what ramifications do you think the NBA would hand down to him?
The minimum suspension is 10 games but they can do much more if they want
I think Miles is technically not a member of any NBA team atm however
I really think that’s why the team played it close to the vest about him. Not to get him upset with the team and stay in his good graces just for this reason only. They left the offer on the table until it went away so now they can get him on the cheap.
