2020 Draft - 3rd Pick

Unless the T-Wolves or Warriors intervene

“unless we move”

which direction? any talk?

The Fultz situational comparison here warms me so
Wiseman the Fultz

i don’t think that trade will happen, it’s just a bad mock draft trade

“The Hornets are highly interested in selecting former Memphis center James Wiseman in the Nov. 18 draft, two NBA sources with knowledge of the situation told The Observer.

One of those sources said he views Georgia guard Anthony Edwards as the Hornets’ backup plan if Wiseman isn’t available to Charlotte. “

Yeah GW, above all else, I am a fan of taking what comes to us at 3. The ONLY trade I’d want moves us back where we get assets (preferably future picks) rather than up.

That assumes that GSW doesn’t take him and while I don’t think they take him for his playing value, I do think they take him above anyone other than LaMelo for his trade value. I don’t think anyone else (other than Ball) has that in this lotto.

I love having FH around here, because it’s so fun having someone around that says they’re in the know. Not trying to be a douche, but hasn’t he been wrong almost every offseason though? I remember he said Devin Booker was the guy, we chose Kaminsky. Then the next offseason he flirted with that huge trade being in the works, never happened. Then he said Shai was the guy, we took Bridges. Don’t really remember last year, but I sure don’t remember him saying PJ was the guy.

Hell, I wish his guy was right lmao. What I’m saying is I think we are extremely tight-lipped and it shows every offseason. Even the most “in the know” guys can never really get a read on us regarding the draft. Maybe we love Wiseman, or maybe it’s a huge smokescreen. I wouldn’t draft him in the top three, but I can at least leave with him at three. If we give up an asset for him like a future first to move up, I’ll be beyond furious.

This is right where I am. If we do, sure, ok. Not a fan but ok. Hope the fans of him are right and I have been reading this all wrong. But even if that pans out, if it costs us assets, like anyone of even marginal consequence currently or a future pick, I’m going to straight up lose it.

Random thought, one thing I definitely feel like is going to happen is the Spurs are going to trade into like the top eight and they’ll take someone like Isaac Okoro. And he will develop into an all star type player, and in like five years we’ll all wonder why he wasn’t considered a top 5 pick pre draft. Okoro is another player I really like. I think my top five players are Ball, Edwards, OO, Hayes, Okoro in that order.

You’re being glib

Put me on ignore clown

I remember arguing with you with that clown pick you wanted (Dad was coach, forget name, LOL) when I said Booker would be an all star.

I’ve been right more than wrong in a league where information is always subject to change.

I said we were interested in Booker as the number 1 choice early in the process. As for Shai…We actually picked Shai dumbass… the pick was right. Info was spot on…

I have said that Wiseman was number one for months… and it appears I’m right again.

I told all of you that Mike was demanding we go the youth route two years ago… to the day and it happened…we benched everyone…

Told you MKG had played his last game as Hornet…

I told you all Mike might be out for good and that a change was coming…Mike sold a portion of the team.

Go get a late pass Jr

I get the attraction for Wiseman, but I honestly like Okongwu better. I’m not high on Ball or Edwards either … especially after NBA.com listed Edwards as 6’ 3" instead of 6’ 5".

Strangely enough, with the sheer number of reports that we are eyeing Wiseman for a team that always plays their cards so painfully close to the vest, I have to wonder if this is a campaign to broadcast that very thing for the express purpose of gauging trade interest (either draft night or by the trade deadline).

That would make sense. The info is real, I can assure you… and as always, subject to change

I’m not here to argue bro, again, I truly love your presence on here. You’re one of the reasons I keep coming back.

I’m just saying, I think we all have the right to be skeptical of what you are saying. That’s awesome that you thought Booker would be an all star, but that’s not what I’m arguing at all lmao. I said that you were confident you’re guy told you Booker would be the pick, and he wasn’t.

Your point about Shai also holds no water, if he really was the guy they were after they wouldn’t have traded him for like a second round pick or whatever it was.

I’m not calling you out or saying you’re just bs’ing. Nor am I saying you don’t know someone in the building. I think what I’m getting at is that I just think those who are making these decisions are incredibly tight-lipped. Even the best of the best seem to have a difficult time getting a read on what we are thinking.

I’ve asked before: what does Wiseman do better than Okongwu? Never really gotten an answer, free throw shooting I guess. It seems like most of the intrigue regarding Wiseman is all of the unknown, OO was the backbone of one of the best defenses in college basketball last year.

That fake trade is atrocious

I don’t think either of them are ideal but can get with Okongwu checking more boxes on flexibility. Really just focusing on being able to switch like Bam and not being played off the floor on that end. But I think folks are projecting Bam’s offensive game onto Okongwu unfairly as I haven’t heard anything to suggest he has ever shown what Bam did in AAU ball. Obviously nothing offensively came to the surface in college on Bam but I think that’s where the disconnect is. The lazy projection being that it ignores that Bam displayed an offensive game at some point and not sure Okongwu ever has.

Said Shai would be pick and he was. That’s all I said. And I said it a lot. How about the rest? Yay or nay… get Zig to go get the records.

Again, you can say you want the info and like the points I bring and then you make an antithetical statement like the one above.

If you’re going to talk shit, get your facts straight skippy. I don’t post for your enjoyment, friendship or whatever. You can desperate with the pleasantries as I don’t need it.

Okay love you bro I believe you
