Hopefully there will be a alexis ajinca available for us to pick.

Boo this man. Boo this man.

Another reminder that the French can’t be trusted

Does SAC want to trade back? What might they be entertaining?

The same thing they do every other year, take a player 5-10 spots too high

Due diligence. Not only for now but in the future

A players of his caliber would clearly be gone by the time we pick. Haha

Scotty Pippen Jr as a 2nd round pick. I just think that he has what it takes to make it. Pretty sure that he’ll never be a starter, but that he’ll be in the NBA a lot longer than most 2nd round picks.

To be fair, (if I remember correctly) Rob was initially projected as a lottery pick before getting red flagged due to medical issues, and in what has been far and away Rob’s healthiest year he still missed 21 regular-season games, had mid-season knee surgery, and is day-to-day in the playoffs. There’s a reason teams passed on him (and I love the guy).

This is spot on. If you’re going to invest significant draft capital and/or money into a Centre, he must be playable when an opposition goes small. There is still a place for the 7ft traditional big, but we should fill that void with vets moving forwards.

Curious FMI.
Weird, Medical report not bad, RW fired agent b4 draft and some teams couldn’t get medical. This, not going combine, and really really immature cited biggest reasons fall.
Not sure reference, Got nickname that’s stuck Time Lord because always miss or late to meetings.

And for also my information, I should not put in this group anyhow. He not a 7’0 stiff, mobile 6’8/6’9.

How neat to see Pippen Jr and Harper Jr at chicago combine.

Both MJ legacy ties drawing interest from me to look at 45. Both still looking
Iike borderline undrafted, two way contract players IMO

In pippen jr case…Not rare and happens…but when combo guard shrinks from 6’3 at vanderbuilt to 6’1.5 need to really shine everywhere else. Just didnt get that from him.

Tari Eason is very interesting. In our range, can defend multiple positions, good athlete with good length. Moves the ball well, but needs to improve his shooting (though he can shoot).

I’d love Sochan, if he’s still available at 13, but Eason would be a very good consolation pick as the highly switchable Forward we need.

*Edit: … also small ball #5. Miles, PJ & Sochan/Eason would be a very switchable & dynamic front court.

Interesting! We have a workout without a Coach.

Curious if anyone has a Hornets Mini/Big Board, focusing on (semi)realistic targets? I’ll throw my early one out there, with the obvious caveat being this assumes we sit and pick at 13 & 15.

Tier 1 (love at 13, but don’t expect them to be there):
Dyson Daniels, Jeremy Sochan.

Tier 2 (really happy to draft at 13 & 15):
Mark Williams, Tari Eason, Ochai Agbaji, Johnny Davis.

Tier 3 (happy at 15 …):
Malakai Branham, Tyty Washington.

Defense! A huge need and hopefully Mitch finally do something about

13/15 picks a large pool of defenders

Tier 1, cover & perimeter defenders

Eason
Sochan
Davis
Agbaji
Daniels
Brown
Wesley
Beauchamp

Tier 2, shotblockers & paint protectors
Move to Tier 1 if can do defense outside paint, but really if can should be top 10 anyhow

Williams
Duren
Kessler

That’s the one thing that has me questioning the wisdom of drafting a ‘traditional’ Center like Williams in the lottery/mid first round. Even though I do like the player and see a clear role/need for him.

I think that, ideally, we’d add a vet at Center and continue to develop Kai. With that accomplished, my dream draft would be Daniels & Eason. I’d also be very happy with Sochan & one of Agbaji/Davis/Branham.

I kinda want the big from duke Williams over Duren fT% 62 VERSES 75 % Tells me Williams could learn a jumper along with his inside game.

Duren 2 years younger tho. He will have more room to grow imo.
