2022 Draft: Who you like?

Considering how difficult it is to find A#1 wings, and how hard it is to gauge centers (contrasting the all stars that come from the late first or mid second, and the draft dud centers in past lotteries) coming out of college, I hope we focus on drafting wings.

To me Duren is Drummond . They have all most the same game. Williams reminds me of a Okafor with a little more get up . It come’s down to need and what you looking for.

I am hoping for a good wing and a good big. It is a ton of wings is our drafting area we should be able to get a good wing and a decent big.

I’d sacrifice a limb for JD Notae. I’d take a bullet for him. I love him and would tell him to his face.

I do not want him on the Hornets

Know nothing about him. Not even for a second?

This was fun tho’

Just hoppin back in here after watching Game 2 yesterday and how it relates to Sochan. I believe he is an asshole player, the kind I really don’t enjoy watching play. I like guys who are intense and play hard, but I really hate the side show of a particular set of guys who pretend to be murdered every play and flailing for the refs, while at the same time always working to instigate and harm other players, and then always getting up and complaining like they’re the victim.

Of course I’m talking about Draymond. I just hate watching that. He shoulda been kicked out when he was resting his feet on Browns neck then shoving him in the back when Brown dared get his feet off him. He’s constantly yelling at the refs who wont ever dare kick him out, but let Oubre wave his pinky while walking away and not saying a word, its an immediate ejection.

I think one play he was falling on his own, grabbed and tripped Smart or whoever and got the foul called on them. Then he tackled Grant Williams for no reason on one play and deservedly got a tech. Him and Pat Bev are annoying to watch, and no, I don’t like that kind of guy on my team. Gary Payton Jr, (or 3rd or 4th) plays just as hard, is very hard nosed, and has a huge impact on defense when he’s in without resorting to assholishness. (I’d actually love if there’s a way to get him on the team next year).

So since Sochan is self admittedly a goon just like those guys, just wanted to see the consensus if he’s the kind of guy y’all are on board for. I’d much rather have Eason for wing defense than any of Sochan’s “intangibles.”

I am worried about Sochan’s offensive production. You can find good, switchable wing defenders really anywhere in the draft at this point. The part that makes a few stand out is if they also have an offensive game of note.

Sochan is a pest, I agree. But can we get Dort on the market for not that much and use that pick for BPA? Yeah.

So like, basically saying I would rather have Dort than Sochan for what this team needs.

Not saying Dort is even available but it feels like a player like him would cost us less than a lotto 1st.

I am not a fan of Sochan from what i have seen . But I do like Eason. The two big’ men I think i like both for different reasons . You tell me . One of the two big guys and Eason is my hope right now.

Tankathon has Hornets selecting 13: Mark Williams 15: Tari Eason 45: Alondes Williams. I can live with that.

We’re picking one ahead of CLE. Their model is not considering they have way too many bigs and not enough anywhere else. Any big we don’t pick at 13 will be there at 15.

I agree with everything you said about Draymond and get sick of seeing it (on another team) but I’m not exactly sure I’d be opposed to having that type of player on our side. I do favor Eason over Sochan right now due to the offensive upside but Sochan is a dog defensively. I’d be happy with Williams and either of those two I think.

My big concern with Sochan is his shot. He doesn’t hit well from 3 or vitally, if analytics are to be believed, the line.

What makes me still like him is he was able to play PG on O and C on D in college and can legitimately guard 1-5. He projects to be an ideal small ball 5, starting PF … but that shot …

Eason is the safer pick, and I’d be very happy with him. I do feel we need to come away with one of them, as they fit what we need so well defensively … multi-positional, switchable wing/forward defenders who project to being really good small ball 5s.

I heard that elsewhere, but what concerns me is IF we want Williams and don’t take him at 13, there’s a blinking sign for other teams to trade with Cleveland to pick him at 14. I’m worried about potentially getting too cute.

My gut says we only pick Williams at 13 if we trade the 15th pick. I also am not enamored with any center in the top half of the first round. E.g. i think whomever picks Duren at 6-9 is overpaying.

Good stuff from Dylan

In the Locked On mock draft, they took Williams at 13, then traded 15 + Oubre for Poetl + 20 to San Antonio. Seems good to me.

The trade is ok. But I think I would take Eason at 13 if I’m getting Poetl. Especially not knowing who will be there at 20.

I do think we’ll be in a good position to add real talent if we end up using both picks. In a worst case scenario, I can’t see how we won’t walk away with two from Williams, Eason, Branham & Agbaji. Dyson Daniels is still the player I most want, and I’d happily trade up to get him.
