Good trade by itself not tied to anything else. No secret wanted to move Vernon contract for a while. Ish underwhelmed, bonus moving him. Harrell at least a semi-competent center even if can’t defend or shoot threes and expiring contract.
Move puts us over cap unless other move are made, not done…opens a roster spot.

This move is reminiscent of the low-key deadline deal that brought Courtney Lee here the last time our Hornets made the playoffs. Hopefully this deal has the same effect as that team’s run through the rest of the regular season.

With all the buy outs coming we could pick up a good player off the scraps being let go We do have a roster space now.

Been a Harrell fan for a long time. Gives all kinds of lineup flexibility, hustle and toughness!! Richards can guard the big 7ft paint monsters when needed. Plumlee, not so much. To slow off his feet.
Really hope this move doesn’t bury Richards back deep on bench. He proved again last night why we need him to play more minutes. He was altering shots and creating havoc in paint for rebounds plus he catches ball good and can finish and hit FT. He can shoot around paint, Harrell can shoot around paint, Plumlee can only pass out of the paint and back dunk sometimes, LOL.
PJ, Harrell, Richards, Bridges, Oubre, now that’s some shot blocking, tough, rim running dudes!!
Add in Gordon when he’s healthy and we can compete with anyone if coach will simply split Plumlee minutes with Richards and Harell.
Plumlee is a back up playing starters minutes and it’s hurting the team. Please coach Richards/Harrell up and cut them loose!! This move better mean Boukenight gets nightly minutes too.

Houston has released DJ Augustin … would be kind of interesting to see him back here.
Perfect. Released by the worst team in the league, DJ Augustin is definitely the missing puzzle piece.
Hopefully he’ll be able to come into charlotte and just play enough minutes to keep Bouknight (and his bad attitude!) off the floor now that Ish is gone.
Harrell was playing really good basketball at the beginning of the year this season. Did he cool off because of injury?
PJ Washington is still a hornet. So surprised! I’m sure most of the league was blowing up the phones to try to acquire that promising young talent of his! All the NBA podcasters are just so high on PJ Washington, don’t they know!!
Just kidding, I’m sure if any offers were made, they were horrible offers. No one is going to give up anything of value or significance to get PJ Washington.
As you can see, coach JB/Mitch feel so good about how great PJ Washington is, they gave up assets to bring in a half season rental of Trez Harrell.

I doubt Bouknight gets any PT. So yeah, maybe we do need another vet PG. earlier in the year, I was hoping we’d take a flier on Isaiah Thomas
