Wish we had gotten Sabonis but in reality we didn’t have anyone as good enough to get him like the Kings did, glad we didn’t trade any of our young core!
I know we didn’t get to see it ourselves, but it seems telling that Nick jumped him between years 1 and 2. Also, with the amount of burn he got in GSO, it would seem the team had plenty in which to evaluate him and they aren’t thinking there’s enough upside to warrant keeping him.
We just upgraded our weakest position with a player who is 10th in the league in PER, between Ja Morant(#9) and Anthony Davis(#11). This should be interesting.
According to the Athletic, trezz has made significant improvements on defense this year, and the Wizards were a better defensive team with him on the court.
They said time will tell if that was Unselds scheming or Harrell actually showing improvement there.
I hope it wasn’t scheming because, if it was, uh oh lol
No 3pt, but One of best 2pt finishers
Offense painfully one dimensional live/die by 3, especially with Hayward out and all players missing at same times
Puts Nick & -11.7 on gteam where needs to be, kid with potential to ge better next year
PJ plays more PF minutes where best future
Hayward & Jalen out, PJ can play at better fit PF, and like end of last year, play miles at SF which FO will want to see if going to pay big money.
Rozier - Harrell do a lot of pick and roll at Lousville? repeat of lou Williamson-Harrell pairing very nice, one of reasons offered big money couple years ago
I am so excited for his paint presence. We have desperately needed it
VCJ has generally looked slow footed to me. I think he does several things well, but is just a guy that lacks something to be effective at the NBA level. That’s just my two cents.
Seems like a very effective g league guy or will play good Euro ball over the pond. And that’s no slight.
Once again, I’ve said it before but it’s surprising to me that Trez is 28. He’s just a guy that it seems like he’s been all over the league playing pretty good ball. I’ve always thought he was 30/31.
Depending on how he plays, I wonder if he’s a guy that could be retained. Obviously, lots of mouths to feed first.
I’d bet that PJ Washington will be a draft day trade candidate. Mitch will need to do some moves to shift cap space.
This off season may make or break this team, and Mitch will have to be good.
Quick shout out for Mitch.
He is so so good at these sorts of shrewd trades. The very low risk, nice reward deals. Deals that have little to no risk or assets given up, but what is incoming is an upgrade or looks like the clear win in the trade.
Edit: I’ll call them the “sloppy seconds” trades. With teams that have made a primary move and need to move something else as a result. Or with a team that is relying on some kind of back up option. Mitch is always there waiting to feast…on scraps.
Yeah. For me it looks like he’s not as basketball hungry as he needs to be. Seems like the type of guy Kobe would make cry at some point.
Seems like a good dude and has a skill set, but it just seems like he needs something else to make it in the NBA.
not top 10 defense in a while, last 10 games giving up 115 a game like season start…vastly improved communication and effort regressing back to lazy ball watching
Most season at top of NBA in scoring and 3P%, stay competitive with poor defense
last 6 games 95 points a game, no one making 3 pointers, one dimensional offense…actually think that started vs Atlanta (4-36) too after all the great +6 record breaking press clippings, and not just shooting ball movement and cohesiveness lacking…except for Pacers fun.
Harrell does bring veteran intensity to team along with a vastly different offensive skill set. And another former player team wanted, a couple years ago offer 4/80. Gives an option if somehow decide not worth paying Miles.
Can fall into play in game again, but need Hayward back to be really good, Gordometer now at 11-27.
Not flashy but reiterate, good Mitch deal and maintains a course…not going to overpay, or even pay premium, for bigs, height, & rim protection.
Speculation: our young team was also impacted by anxiousness of trade deadline. Now that it’s come and gone, there’s relief in addition to adding a high energy player that fits a need.
