2024-25 Hornets General Discussion

I’m in the NSJ camp. I’m really pulling for the guy. I doubt the return would be any good and for some reason I could see him going off somewhere else. I wouldn’t be crushed though. Just slightly crushed.

I’ve been really disappointed in Josh green this year. Immensely.

Yeah. Josh Green hasn’t had it at all this year. Would much rather see Cody starting than Josh.

Moussa’s rebounding stats aren’t that surprising really. He’s an elite rebounder. And I love his energy. My concern is on the offensive end though. We’re playing 4 against 5 when he’s in the game. He’s demonstrated very little touch around the basket. But if he can improve in that area he could definitely be an impactful rotation guy.

Agreed. Of all the guys on the trading block, Cody is the one I’d least like to see moved. He does enough of a lot of different things that impact winning that he’s worth keeping around imo, especially at his price point. Josh on the other hand is just not impactful enough to justify his salary or minutes. Cody is better suited as a back up than a starter, but I agree that he’d be a preferred option to Josh. Micic’s decline has been significant enough that I’m fine moving off him. I’m still intrigued by NSJ, but am doubtful that he becomes more than a standard issue rotational piece.

But it’s kind of just rearranging the deck furniture. I doubt the return for any of those guys amounts to much other than maybe our efforts to set a record for the most 2nd round picks held by a team at a given time.

It’s not surprising to me either really, but it’s still wild to see. Having mark and Moussa on the team adds some great rebounders to the squad.

Edit: here’s the last Swarm game that Diabate played: 26pts/14rbs, 2ast, 2blk, 1 stl. 9/9 FG, 4/5 FT. That’s pretty fun.

If Josh green is making around 14/15 million for the next two seasons and Okogie is making about 8 million for only one more season…I think you move off of Josh green and slot Okogie into the defense oriented bench role. Especially with Melo’s max salary kicking in.

I’m not sure either Green or Okogie are part of any long term stuff. I think that was the plan for Josh. But i am betting Okogie is just trade filler. I’d be delighted to be surprised

As you can see by my pfp i hope josh finds his floor and gets back on track

This… it’s Flagg or a 2 guard in draft

Flagg please. That dude is built for the upcoming rule changes to the league that discourage 90 3’s a game

Eric said Mark was shooting 80% on this road trip. That should discourage taking 90 3s a game.

Argh. I hate that my preseason prediction is coming true there. Hope he gets all the time he needs to heal entirely.

The curse continues. I guess we’ll see more NSJ.

Quick research:

NBA players who have torn their scapholunate ligament have typically needed surgery and a recovery time of 3–6 months. Some players have returned to play within 4 months, but it can take up to 6 months to fully heal and return to strenuous activities.

I just can’t handle this shit anymore guys. I really don’t know how more I can really watch. We finally get everyone back and then this happens again and again, and again.

How many seasons have been thrown away?

Hate that for Brandon. I wonder how this affects trade deadline. Of course the hornets are in their annual winning streak to push them to alter plans and lose lottery balls.

Have to believe FO is in “this ain’t it” mode, suspecting more trades. But who knows.

Do hate it for Miller. Such frustration to have some talented guys on the roster but they can’t stay healthy for us to enjoy watching them play.
