2024-25 Hornets General Discussion

With B Mill out for the season what about a trade for Cam Whitmore? Green for Whitmore and Tate.

Zach Lowe:

ā€œMark Williams is happening! Last 9 games: 20 points, 12 rebounds, 2.6 dimes, +2 overall. He was in my preseason Six Most Intriguing Players column that never ran. Fun detail from that piece: Charles Lee, Charlotte’s coach, held goals conferences before training camp with each player. Williams showed up to the meeting with an index card divided into four quadrants, each with a category of listed goals: stats, awards/accolades, leadership, team goals. Lee had never seen anything like it. Lee and Williams signed the card; Lee had it laminated.ā€

It’s crazy to me that they say a guy can’t be an Allstar starter or an Allstar bc his team doesn’t win? Why should that even matter. He’s a better player than Brunson…. I’ll give them Mitchell.

But I really do think he gets left off the team… then there will be some injury and then he’ll make it. At that point, I would just decline if I we’re him

Brunson is better. If health wasn’t an issue, I would take melo over Mitchell to be on my team.

The issue is the fan vote. The vote said he should be a starter. His stats back that up. Winning or losing shouldn’t be a factor unless it’s a tie breaker.

Not unexpected but hate to read it

At some point, this can’t be dumb luck or fragile players right?

It has to be something that the organization is doing?

Maybe it’s something in the dang water. Come to think of it, my foot is hurting a little extra today.

Number 4 in the league! Hopefully he can keep it going over a full season.

If it’s a disc issue, that could be something well preceding his arrival here or even to the NBA and it only came to a head due to his very high usage early on this season.

Mark has been really good. Better than what I hoped for offensively. Would like to see him develop a mid jumper. Needs to improve his strength and defense, especially shot blocking. He does that and he’s going to be a force. Really excited about his future.

I’d like to see mark shoot a few threes. He has a soft touch and a good free throw shooter. All of his shooting mechanics look fine. Even if he can shoot 32-33% (which is definitely not good) he’ll help space the floor. That forces his defender to stand closer instead of sag 8-10 feet off of him. Clear the big out of the lane.

Sounds like that is something that Zach lowe and I have in common. We wrote preseason articles on how great mark Williams can be. Pretttttty smart guys.

His length and movement remind me of a young Patrick Ewing. Not a perfect physical fit for this spacing era. A David Robinson strength/mobility combo would be more ideal.

I’m not complaining though. With all this speculation on changing the rules to reign in 3-point attempts, it will be interesting to see if the strictly interior big man makes a comeback. Mark Williams freed up to primarily defend the lane could be really nice on defense, with continued physical strength.

What does the bottom emoji mean of the tweet? Fart in the wind?

I wouldn’t mind getting dayron sharpe from the nets. He’s still 23.

I’d much rather go with Moussa than put coin on Sharpe to figure things out.

Why not both?

How does Miles Bridges for 2 First Rounders sound?

Not sure why either team would do that. CLT would cut ties with Miles and get picks. So, maybe. But BKN had the better Bridges on a cheaper contract and traded him. Not sure why they would want the other.
