The '26 FRP from PHX is a swap where they have (had) the least favorable of WAS and ORL so it might not be scintillating. But it’s tradable asset stuff for sure.

Add to that we cleared a roster spot without simply waiving a player which we needed to do to land the incoming LAL deal. That non-waive for nothing might still need to happen wrt clearing a spot for Moussa but that’s still 2 weeks away now, not by 3pm today. Really well done.

yes! Great point there. I forgot about needing to clear a roster spot as well. Since Peterson took over it’s been an absolute masterclass in asset management and trading. This is so very different from the past, and it really has been the only silver lining over the last year. Absolute masterclass.
So that 2026 pick is a swap that will take the least desirable pick between both ORL and WAS? From either team? These pick swaps get me so turned around.

Jeff Peterson and co…absolute monsters. This is so refreshing to watch them navigate asset management and trading. Masterclass. This has really been the only silver lining from the last year. Let’s truly get this rebuild party started. I’ve grown so tired of trying to keep everything the same and only doing little tweaks that accomplish nothing. Now we’re cooking with oil Hornets fans.
As I understand it, yes - if ORL is 27th, PHX is 24th, and WAS is 4th, we get the 27th pick. I might be reading these wrong - I feel you need a freaking abacus, divining rod, ouija board, copy of the new testament, and be wearing tefillin to figure these out.

Amazing work. Nurkic is a serviceable center who can at least have us functional the rest of the season. That plus a first round pick for Cody, Vasa, and a 2nd is borderline incredible.

Nurkic averages the same rebounds per 100 possessions as Domantas Sabonis, the top per game rebounder in the league. He’s tough. He has some ball skills. This will be refreshing.

The fact we got a first round pick (seems unprotected) for Micic, Martin and a 2nd rounder is amazing… and I feel we upgraded the center position in the process as well.
I’m not sure what the Suns are doing, giving up first round picks. Maybe Caleb Martin increased Cody Martins value? Ha
According to Statmuse, Nurkic is 11 all time in NBA rebounding %, above Kevin Love and Moses Malone(granted, those guys played well past their prime, and Nurkic has yet to do so).
Yeah, Phoenix had to do something like this - they were a 2nd apron team last year I believe and paying that kind of money and going nowhere is financial suicide.
