2024-25 Hornets General Discussion

Yeah, it’s one of those from the view point of those that will always regard us as a dumping ground

This is weird to say, but I think people might be undervaluing Cooper Flagg (not here at HP necessarily, but in general). On a 1-10 scale, if wembanyama is a 10/10 in terms of draft prospect potential for a number one overall pick, I think Cooper Flagg is a 9/10. Easily.

I think Cooper Flagg is that good.

Yeah and more to the point. You want the #1 pick to draft a potential generational or at the least championship center piece. If you are “lucky” (quotes because I am only half sure it isn’t rigged) enough to get #1 when that type of player is available, you never trade it especially for more picks because what’s the point?

Does it mean that the player works out, no. But you can’t hope to better by passing.

OMG, just woke up from a bolt of lightning. It’s not Hornets Law. We didn’t build on an ancient burial ground either. This is a complete own goal. We screwed over Stephanie Ready and never sniffed success since.

It’s not some LAW, it’s “We aren’t READY!” And by how things are going, we never will be.

Apparently Bryce McGowens was on the g league team in rising stars team challenge last night. I can’t remember which of the four teams won.

I think the one with stefon castle on it won

Has there been any word if Mark is with the team? I would imagine they have had/will practice during the break.

I’m thinking the same. What happens the game after the break will be very telling if he ever plays for us again. Just sucks ass.

I hold the LA Lakers and particularly Rob Pelinka 100% responsible.

This is actually one of those really big transactional stories that is essentially getting zero coverage only because of who it effects.

Imagine the amount of attention it would get, especially now that there really is nothing to report in the NBA, if the situation was reversed and the Lakers were in the Hornets situation.

If it were the other way around, the trade would have already been put through.

Well… at least he’ll get a lot of playing time here, to really show what he can do.

This should be required viewing to post on Hornets Planet. Lol

Da hell???

They quietly went away in exchange for the #1 pick in a draft of their choosing.

So basically Lakers had buyers remorse and admitted it

Yeah…. Like if they were so concerned with it and nothing really came back on the physical that they didn’t already know…

It is absolute BS and they should not be to just resend the trade. Crazy they can just get away with it bc we couldn’t.

It seems like it’s clear they screwed us, so why are we no longer pushing this?

Silver probably told us to drop it. He works for the owners and I’m sure they didn’t like the look. I’d think the players association would get something in the next contract addressing this as Mark is obviously the real victim in all this.

It at least came out that there’s nothing currently wrong with Mark and we never nefariously hid information. His trade value in the short term should be ok. Nothing would help more in that than him staying on the court.
