2024-25 Hornets General Discussion

I copy and pasted this from someone else. Might not be all of it, but seems to be the gist:
————-
Instead, the trade was off, leaving Williams stunned.

“My agent told me,” Williams said. “I didn’t think I had failed my physical. That didn’t even cross my mind. The night I got traded I played hella minutes. I didn’t think in any world that was possible. Since I’ve been back since the start of the year, I’ve played games with a lot of minutes. I feel like every injury I’ve had has been well-documented and I’ve recovered and been 100% since.

“So, I don’t know what went into that decision. I think that’s up to them.”

Balancing the emotions of the Lakers failing Williams despite him feeling otherwise about his health prognosis is quite a mental chore.

“Yeah, there’s not really much I can do,” Williams said. “Like I said, I’ve been playing. You went from shocked to excited, back to shocked. You control what you can control.”

Similar to the mentality Williams is now taking: letting his game do the talking.

“Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me is showing I’m healthy,” Williams said. “Like I said, I didn’t think there was a world (where) I’d fail a physical. So, I’m just excited to play.

“I get it’s a business, right? What I got traded for, picks, players … Like I said, it’s a business. Obviously, on their side, they thought I could have contributed to them winning going into the playoffs, whatever. And now I’m back here. I’m back with the guys, excited.”

I know the silence since the rescission had everyone freaking out but this is exactly the attitude I expected from Mark. We traded him to the Lakers with LeBron and Luka. Wasn’t like we traded him to the Wizards. We did him a solid. And the package we traded him for was significant. It proved that the Hornets had a high value of him. The trade was a win / win from his and the Hornets perspective.

BUT THE LAKERS, got cold feet. As he says 1) there is no world where he thought he’d fail the physical 2) every injury he’s had has been WELL DOCUMENTED and he’s recovered 100%. 3) he played hella minutes just before the trade 4) he’s gonna play tonight, the first opportunity he’s had since the rescission, and 5) he guesses it was their decision.

The Lakers shouldn’t have been allowed to do that plain and simple but I’m glad to have Mark back and hope he is beyond motivated to prove his doubters wrong.

I hope he plays really well to finish out the year and we just hang onto him at this point. No reason to just give him away now.

His attitude seems pretty good with us… seems he’s really pissed at the Lakers. I hope he feels good that it took a very big offer, that we really couldn’t pass up.

The reality is: maybe this was a big fucking wake up call to mark Williams. Not that he is in control of everything about his health, but he has some control. I hope this will give him the extra fire.

That’s the hope. I still believe in mark Williams. And I want him to turn the corner.

Real question:

Is tonight’s game against the LA Fakers our “Super Bowl” this year? I mean, this team hasn’t had much to play for or much motivation for anything really. Will coach Lee and the fellas rally around mark Williams and ball the fuck out?

It seems like coach Lee would really use this and go pretty hard.

In fact, I hope our guys come out and play some very physical basketball. I’d love to see some techs and hard fouls. Not dirty plays to injure anyone obviously, but I just want to see this team to have an emotional reason to give a shit.

It garbage on one hand the Lakers are lead by LeBron “dnp-load management” James. The culture of the NBA is now not to play if you have a hangnail. So for them to nix a trade on player health is ridiculous.

Mark is only a product of the league he is in.

No. The lottery is the super bowl. Don’t lose sight of the prize

Oh, the lottery is always the ultimate prize for us, but that doesn’t meant we can’t get one game out of 82 that actually means something bigger than Cooper Flagg.

I’ve already gone on record to say that I’m positive we’ll get the number one pick, draft Cooper Flagg and alter the franchise.

Listen chef, I’ve been watching a bunch of TikTok’s about “manifesting”, and I’m convinced it’s real. I will manifest. #spiritual #blessed (I’m just kidding, I loathe that shit)

Wow…

Yep, buyers remorse.

I’m sorry to be a broken record, but in the spirit of positivity, Mark Williams is currently the six best player in the league in terms of player efficiency rating, right between KAT and Zion. Among some excellent company if you check out the rankings.

I’m sure there will be a Mark Williams rule going forward. But that doesn’t right the wrong done to Mark and the Hornets organization.

I wonder how much of the hornets not filing a a rebuttal was due the the former LA Lakers head of medical staff now being the top NBA league medical team. I don’t recall what years he was the Lakers medical guy, but it was pretty recent until he moved to a league level medical professional.

Is this real?

From a year ago

The charlotte hornets are the only team in the league to have a perfect record since returning from the all star break.

Get some nba.

Edit: nope, not anymore. It was a good run.
