If you did, two things would happen. First, there’s no reason to broadcast it, it will basically be seconds of excitement for a draft like this or Vic’s. They pull the winner first, so 25 seconds in, the draft lottery show is done. Maybe some % of the viewing audience cares where “their” team picks but largely, it’s an insight into “who gets the first pick!?”
Second issue is that it’s a logistical slough. They don’t pull clean, it’s not like they can delete the N number of entries for teams that have already been selected. They will be pulled again and again and again throughout the lottery draw. The Hornets for instance were likely pulled 14% of the time, just unfortunate for us, only after the 3rd pick. That’s a lot of “Hornets again, pick again” by the officials.
It’s not made for TV stuff. And making the pulling of draft balls the show will not win them any favors.
And also, people would still say it’s rigged.
I’m not saying it isn’t, but I don’t think that solves the problem. David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear on live TV.

Exactly. All the funnier when it’s implied that major accounting firms are collaborating with a fraud at this level. That always makes me laugh. Like they are willing to go the way of Arthur Anderson to get … what exactly? … in conspiring to rig something like professional sports. Something the US Congress has a legitimate claim to investigate as Interstate Commerce.
Functionally, what’s the difference? Outcome is decided.
Maybe we just need to lean into it and have legit faces and heals.

It’s Ace for me. I was saying, I wasn’t very impressed from what I saw the few times I watched VJ this season (compared to Ace) but I will be taking a closer look now.
What level player do ya’ll think the #4 pick alone (with salary filler) could bring us in a trade for an immediate contributor? Who are some examples of players we could get in a trade that move the needle?
I don’t think we make a move like that until we prove we can keep healthy players on the court. I nice veteran is going to have a big salary. We’re not in win now mode, so it’s better to keep a guy with a trajectory peaking in a couple of years with a rookie salary.
I want Ace. I wanted him a lot of the year. I think it would be a very good spot for him for the ceiling he has.
Couldn’t care less. They need to figure something out if they ever want me to believe this league has any sort of integrity ever again
