Makes sense - I guess. For sure we have too many PGs now. Ship out Micic for Hunter Tyson!

I think it’s time to move Leaky up to the end of the bench. If that is done then there are two two-ways available.

Still hoping that an NBA experienced C is added.

So are we thinking we’re done with free agents or are we going to add a PF or C ?

We still have some of the mid-level exception to use. Rod Boone thinks that will be ticketed for a veteran to help the bench depth.

I’d like a C3 still. A break glass in case of emergency type, veteran.

Do we have any spots left?

If not we may have to move Micic but I don’t want to. I’m not happy we traded for Jackson. On a previous team his mates were complaining that he was ball hogging…so the guy plays the next game without shooting at all. I also seem to remember him being a “distraction” in someone’s locker room.

I think we have two spots left? I make 13 guaranteed, KJ on a two-way and that’s it.

LaMelo, Micic, Jackson. KJ*
Green, Mann, NSJ.
Miller, Cody.
Miles, Grant, Salaun.
Mark, Nick.

Don’t think Leaky is signed to anything.

Thought Leaky is on a 2-way

We need size bad. Mann and NSJ are quite undersized at the 2 and of course Miles and Grant are a bit short for the PF spot even though they manage for the most part. Would be nice to have a player with size who could maybe play the SG/SF and one who could fit at PF/C. (yeah yeah nba is positionless etc. etc.)

I’m not sold on what I know of Jackson. Cody is yet another health question mark but would be really helpful if he was healthy and able to develop with some consistency.

Best I can do is C3-PO

I know Josh green is 6’5 and can play some SF in a back up capacity. Bridges 6’7 can slide over to SF in a larger lineup.

Melo 6’7
Green 6’5
Miller 6’7

That’s not too bad. We have 6’6 Cody Martin that can play 1-3, defensively.

I’m kind of hoping we find a third center. I’ve seen how that movie plays out. Definitely want a third center.

Bring back our boy Cody Zeller!

He certainly was, but I don’t think I’ve heard he’s been picked up again for this season. Might have been though.

That was so bad that I clearly remember the worst example of what you are referencing from 10 years ago. I looked for the video but couldn’t find it. The video was nothing short of extraordinary and disturbing:

It had not crossed my mind to bring up Reggie’s growing pains but after reading your post I thought I could illuminate.

With that said, I don’t recall too many problems after that incident. And we all try to grow - me included.

Leaky is on a two way. This is even up to date w KJ’s contract.

Micic is 31! Come on man…

C-3PO

Daniel Theis is off the market. One year deal with the Pels. Cross him off. Paul Reed is out there. I know we have about 8 million in the MLE. Could fit if he’d take the MLE.

Aside, I still don’t understand why Reggie jackson is still on a roster with Mann and Micic. And Cody Martin as well, who can play emergency PG minutes. I don’t know if he’s some kind of trade chip that is being held in case someone wants a vet ball handler. Or a potential salary filler in the event of a possible trade.

I still want to get Isaac Okoro. I would be happy to ship out some smattering of some if the following: Reggie Jackson, Cody Martin, NSJ, Micic, whatever. Cleveland is like 9 million or so below the luxury tax and they don’t want to cross it.

I’d send a combination of the players above. Maybe Cody Martin and a first round pick. Or Cody and those two second round picks we got in order to acquire Okoro. Or: Cody and Micic with two 2nd rounders.

Sign him for like 4/48. Waive Reggie jackson. I’m high on Okoro, he would fit in coach lee’s desire for defensive intensity and ball pressure absolutely to perfection.

Melo/Mann
Green/Okoro
Miller/Okoro
Bridges/Grant W/Salaun
Mark W/Richards

Green and Okoro could make up for Melo and Bridges defensively. Unsure of wins, but that team would be a tough gritty squad that no one wants to play.

But most importantly, young talent on GOOD contracts.

I looked thru basketball reference and did a player comparison between Jackson and Micic. Overall Jackson slightly edges Micic out across the board in advance stats. They’re both only guaranteed this next season and Jackson is almost 3 million cheaper. He also got us 3 (?) 2nd rounders that we needed to acquire Green.

Between the 2 I have to think Micic is most likely to have positive value so we’re likely stuck with Jackson.

I can see why the org. is taking the guy on and most likely keeping him…but I still don’t like it lol.

I may be putting too much stock in this but the apron could be the driving factor. Both of these guys could play big roles in a contender looking for depth at the deadline. Any 2nd apron team can only do a 1 to 1 deal. No combining salaries. Both of these guys have salaries that either line up with rookie deals of good caliber slots or match up with a not so good player but with added draft capital.
