Feel like we’ll need to get you into protective custody if he is named GM after that statement lol
Watch we trade Bridges then resign him in the offseason
I can understand that. But can you share via DM? That’s technically not public forum, right?
Could be an interesting read. Then again Clifford could also be out of the loop because he is a dead man walking
Year after year, free agency is becoming more barren. There’s a few reasons for this, but it is what it is.
This team, this shit show it is, will most likely not be getting it’s injection of new life via free agency. If we do, it’s probably a bad contract. Trades and draft is probably where it’ll happen.
As far as cap space goes-you need cap space of course for free agency. But also to accommodate trades and absorbing bad contracts to extract assets from teams. To me, this is the more beneficial role of cap space in the modern NBA-rather than “free agency”.
Luke Kennard is one free agent we should target
You need to stop posting this
Trey Murphy is super legit though.
If we trade Miles and Hayward is gone next year… and we’re mainly acquiring likely 2nd round draft capital… and there’s no realistic impact free agents we can acquire… where do we expect to get any offense from next year outside of Brandon and Melo if he can stay on the floor?
Bryce? Thor? Leaky? They look panicked as hell everytime they touch the ball and don’t belong on the floor for a team with any hope to win. Cody? NSJ? I love em both and they deserve a role but they can’t be counted on consistently.
Feels like It’s going to take a Massive leap for NSJ, a brandon/Melo level rookie impact from our draft pick and a helluva dramatic coaching improvement for this team to avoid being garbage again next year.
I’d take cooper flagg if that’s what it would mean. That should be enough for a proper reset
I’m about halfway through where they get to Bridges (and other Hornets) and they’re saying we want a “1st and the other team’s best young player”
Saw that and feel deflated we’re going into july bargaining with klutch on his 5 yr deal here because we ran out of any other options
This is peak bargaining time. Some team will pony up half that by the deadline and the hornets will take it. I would be more worried if the headline was hornets enthralled with suns baked turd offer for bridges.
I still think we have more leverage in a S&T. This high ask does make me think we’re headed towards the summer with Myles.
With such a barren fa class I could see that. But generally s&t’s don’t return 1sts or major players if it doesn’t involve an absolute super star.
Yup I agree. I just think the offers for him now would be crap like that Suns rumor
It would make the most sense in a vacuum to wait until July and do a s&t of him where several teams suddenly go from no or1 FRP they can trade to 2 or 3. I just don’t trust us to execute on that competently
I agree with all of this! I don’t think we need to be locked into the idea of trading Miles, and if we do, it can’t just be for a developmental project and a couple of seconds. At a minimum it would need to be a 1st and an immediately impactful player. Lamelo is heading into year 5. We need to be trying to capitalize on this window while we have him to win. Miller is clearly ready to go. If we assume they are the requisite 2 stars that are needed to win with Miller being 1a and Lamelo 1b, talent-wise, Miles is an ideal 3rd guy. But if we dismantle the supporting cast around those two by off-loading Terry and Miles, it just feels like a waste if we can’t convert whatever we get for them into talent that can help us support our two stars along that same timeline. If the 1st from Terry and a 1st from Miles is part of a trade package that brings back a third star, then cool. But if that doesn’t happen, I feel like we’ve kind of cut our legs out from under ourselves.
Trade trade Lowry and get Cole Anthony!
hate to say it east, but kelly o is a player that this team desperately needs.
