Once LaMelo comes back, I think this will be a legit team. Good start to the season.
Not to poop on a win but this SAS team is a disaster.
Yāall seem to be a little frustrated with the Bouknight minutes
manā¦give me Monk back. Bouknight is a less talented Monk. lol
Bouk is young and has not had a lot of experience playing in the NBA. People should give him a fair amount of time and not be prisoners of the moment. Perhaps he is hung over. lol
haha you are probably right. Lets give me him some time to sober up. Still doesnāt change the fact that Monk is more talented,
We shall find out if you are right as the season goes on. Come back to this in a month. I will concede at that time but not sooner than that.
Bouknight was nearly a top 5 pick, heās got plenty of potential and he sat in the dog house all last year. Iām fine with letting him shoot it and see if he can find a rhythm.
I was a big a Monk fan as anyone, when we drafted him it was one of the most exciting days I had ever had as a fan of the Hornets. I was sure heād be a steal and be averaging 20+ in no time. When JB came in, I thought heād turn Monk into a star unlike āold ass Clifford.ā I still like the guy and think he could be a solid 6th man. But Monk got a shot to be a top option last year on a team with Lebron James. Lakers fan werenāt upset to see him not signed and there was many moments they were frustrated with him last year.

Can Terry play point like a point guard?
Looks like he can! Hopefully he can hold it down a couple more games til Meloās back -
Does Bouknight even suit up?
Looks like he can! Hopefully he can hit shots more than he can do shots. -
Does PJ step up into a leadership role finally?
A little bit more assertiveness it seems. But heās gonna need to learn how to get to the line. 0 free throws should not happen. But good first game. -
Which rookie or second year player is going to get playing time to contribute this year?
Shouldāve expanded to 4 years. Did not expect Nick to turn into Jarrett Allen, but big men do take longer to cook in the oven. I guess Mark will be ready in a few more years. -
Can Plumee actually hit a shot with his left hand?
Looks like he can! Two of them even!
This is the Spurs though. Pop knows how to tank, he might actually have the most stress free season of his life while free falling to VW. If they beat the Pelicans, then maybe I mightā¦no, this is the Hornets, I canāt fall for it ag⦠weāll just wait and see what happens.
First, the guys on the team have earned a celebration tonight after everything that has happened this off-season. Most of them have worked hard and done what has been asked of them. No matter what we may think of them collectively, theyāve earned it. Second, it was the Spurs. They are a bad team and we really canāt take much from tonight. Letās see how the next 2 go. They should be a better indication of what this team may be, even though Melo isnāt playing. Good win though. On pace for 82-0.
App on Firestick didnāt work⦠App on iPad didnāt work⦠had to use Windows on desktop and then the video was crappy. Ugh
Looks as though weāre, once again, perfectly positioned to occupy the no-manās-land of the NBA ⦠the late lottery.
Terry, Oubre & Haywood are way too good to loose to the tanking teams, but not good enough to beat playoff teams.
Totally agree. We must trade them.
Mason needs traded immediately. Richards and Williams should be the only centers. I am growing so tired of either a) drafting players not even rotationally ready for the NBA or b) sitting draftees behind journeyman veterans for the sake of securing 30 win seasons
Richards has shown steady improvement over the past couple of years and had a nice stretch of play even last year before being shut down. A breakout year from him may soften the blow of giving Duren away some.
Totally agree on Plumlee. Since this is a throw away year anyway, no reason we shouldnāt devote all the C minutes to the development of Nic, Mark and Kai. Just cannot understand how we donāt get Williams more than 4 minutes in a game where we were up 30 for most of the 4th quarter.
Thatās the thing, I was team Williams at the draft. Of course that is a completely uninformed opinion outside of the 3 minutes of YouTube highlights. It looks like duren may very well be a player. But Williams showed some things in both SL and preseason to suggest he could be a player too.
He absolutely wonāt be if he sits all year. And if you were going to sit him, they might as well drafted the 31 year old 8th year senior from Kansas.
I disagree, I donāt think that nic Richards has shown steady improvement. At no point of seeing nic Richards on the floor over the past season did I think, āman, that guy is starting to put it together!ā.
Saying nic Richards has made steady improvement over the last few seasons might be a biased statement made from the game last night. Last nightās performance is a singular data point that does not change how lackluster and lost he has looked at times on the floor.
Iām not taking anything away from him, and not discrediting. But letās not fall into the hindsight 20/20 bias after one game against the absolute worst team in the league
I get the general point you are making, but i will say richards has been doing things in the preseason and last night that make me at least raise an eyebrow as they are newish.
