Great info. I didn’t realize we had three of those slots available to use, or could carry more than 15. I know only 13 can be active for games, or has that changed also?
Man, 18 sounds like a lot of guys lol. I wonder at what point the organization opts against that due to the increased travel and other expenses of three extra guys who 99.5% likely won’t see more than a few minutes on the court? If any minutes.
I mean, unless it’s important for morale to have an even 6 groups for 3on3 basketball lol
That’s fair. We’re also a little thin at the 3/4 slots. I mean, entire front court really because of mark Williams being an unknown.
I guess behind Brandon Miller, you’d have Green or Cody playing backup minutes if we want to go a little smaller? they’re both 6’5 and 6’6. I guess Grant Williams could spend a little time at the 3, but I don’t love it.
And then there’s Salaun. Hard to slot him anywhere without having seen him. But if I’m reading the tea leaves, it would seem he will be getting minutes in a currently thin front court with Bryce and Poku gone.
We can have 3 but KJ Simpson our already injured 2nd round pick is taking up one of them so we possibly have 2 available (if they’re not going to retain Black on one).
These guys hoop no matter what. Guys can get hurt in any situation. Didn’t Battier tear up his knee during the summer falling over an end table? If they are playing Miller all 5 games in SL or 36 mins per game, i get the frustration. But just playing a pair of games seems hardly worth the hand wringing.
I know it’s just summer league and I’ll be the first and the loudest to say that virtually none of what happens there makes much difference but Man… watching Reed Sheppard had me thinking this kid might actually be the next Steph Curry. Maybe we should have done whatever it took to trade up for him.
I can’t help but doubt the Steph Curry. Sheppard is so short in stature. I can’t help but think he is going to have major limitations when he goes up against longer NBA defenders that matchup relatively well with him athletically.
He isn’t nearly the ball handler that Steph is or was at Davidson
On another note, seems like sarr and reischar played well. Bub Carrington may also be the gem of the draft
I’m not mad about miller playing or anything. Just with this teams injury history it gives me the heebie jeebies.
I’m aware that freak accidents can happen at any time and you can’t control freak accidents; however, you can control your exposure to the possibility of freak accidents.
Again, not mad about seeing Miller play. I think it’s a good thing he’s playing, practicing, and getting good reps in with all the new coaching.
And in the end, I’d bet he plays one game before he’s shut down.
Does wish he was a little bit taller? Wish he was a baller? Have a girl that looked good, so he could call her? With a rabbit in a hat with a bat, and a six four impala?
