FWIW
Yes there are multiple women - at least two who are public. We can hope there are only 2 but we know that is not the case. This Miles stuff was found on 3 different threads. Moderators decided to consolidate under this thread not the “Miles is a wife beater” thread and that has lead to this confusion.
Seems to me an attempt not to call ugly ugly when ugly can’t be escaped.
Anyway, Miles and his fandom are about to get a reality check. Beating women and embracing the most moronic aspects of “thug life” could put his simple @ss in the poor house and the big house. It’s open season on his money and freedom.
He could have spent part of his summer in Europe - like the boss - but instead he stayed over here and went into full simpleton mode w his boys. Talk about a lack of basic creativity off the court. And yes that includes his “rapping”. “A fool and his money will soon be separated” as the Chinese said about 500 years ago.
Somebody needs to tell him to read the room with his dumb@ss glasses off. Time to settle and pay top lawyers for the best plead deal possible. The courts will not be anywhere as sympathetic towards him as basketball world.
One thread had 4 posts, one had 83, it’s not an act of anything other than pulling one (with 4) into the other (with 83).
I advise you to be careful how you casually and incorrectly throw around intent.
Anyone is welcome to ask the OP to modify the thread title.
You are incorrectly assigning motive and/or intent here.
Yeah, I didn’t see any intent.
If anything, the board seems to be pretty unified on the fact that what Miles did was reprehensible.
I read her post but I don’t remember her saying that.
Wind your neck in and stop throwing unfounded and harmful insinuations/accusations around.
I thought the news was so big I wanted to make a separate thread for it. But people found it redundant and wanted to merge.
I’m not looking into it and don’t care. I don’t see any bad intent.
As the other mod on this board, I’m about as liberal as it gets when it comes to people getting second chances and learning from mistakes. But that stops at domestic violence.
What it very likely seems Miles did is absolutely disgusting. He created a household where it was seemingly normal for his toddler son to witness him choking his wife. That’s horrible and he shouldn’t be in the NBA.
I hated when the Panthers tried to trade for Deshaun and I wouldn’t of rooted for them if he got on the team. I said the other day there’s almost nothing that could shake my love for this team even with all the chaos. But bringing back Miles would seriously shake that.
This thread had already been the Miles Bridges off-season drama thread and posters went to this thread even after the other was created. That’s pretty much the only reason they were merged.
From what I heard, they will not rescind the QO before the court hearing. In a case that way, if Miles signs 1 year QO, I hope Hornets bench him indefinitely and don’t let him play, even if we pay him. It will be like doubling Batum’s money.
I feel like it was more of an implied thing that it had been happening for a while. I could be wrong though. Just what I got from it.
Good move. Proud of the organization, though I shouldn’t be. It’s a no brainer
I read it the same way MM
With a situation that severe, I feel like that’s been happening to some extent for a while. If not physical, than verbal and emotional.
I remember seeing his wife’s posts on twitter all the time, showing all the fun with the kids and them going on dates, I think mostly the prior seasons. But if you go back to her posts in early 2022, they become very cryptic and sad. I’m guessing a ton of verbal abuse probably started then and escalated to this point.
I know he was always serious about rapping, but maybe last summer was when he started taking a deeper step like he was trying to have a legitimate career outside basketball. Don’t know anybody in his crew, but clear he was prioritizing the partying lifestyle with his boys over being a family man.
And to reiterate the points others have made, nobody on this board here has been trying to hide or defend Miles. Other message boards or social media, yeah I’ve seen those dumbasses. Only thing i saw here was lets wait to see what the evidence is, and once those pictures came out, nobody has backed him at all.
I was probably one of his biggest fans here, and I’m completely out on any future with Miles. He deserves jail time and a ton of therapy, and needs to prove his contrition by a ton of community work and investment before I even buy that he’s dedicated to bettering himself. I hope he does the tough work required to get there though.
Agreed. If Michael Vick did time for abusing dogs, then absolutely someone who abuses a person, and particularly a woman, should face prison time.
Vick’s jail the was much more about gambling and conspiracy to across state lines.
That actually just furthers the point then. None of that is more deserving of jail time than DV.
Remember he is only charged at this point. I am not sticking up for him. But he does deserve innocent until found guilty just like everyone else.
I do agree on vick. It was crazy what people said of him when his physical crimes were abusing animals.
He definitely deserves the jail crime as the laws are written, but people wanted him forever banned from earning a living because he abused dogs.
Totally agree. As I posted before, Miles definitely deserves due process. That’s why I’ve not even referred specifically to Miles. I’m just saying, in general, a person guilty of domestic violence deserves to do time.
I’m with you on Vick. Not cool what he did for sure, but it bothered me that people who have actually killed human beings have done less time than he did.
