The Brandon Miller Thread

Giving the voter the benefit of doubt, perhaps they highly valued team success and just opted for those type players beyond Wemby and Chet. :man_shrugging:t2:

Looks like it was Kendrick Perkins. SMH

I really don’t care what national media thinks. But I dislike all things 4letter network. This just fuels that fire.

To paraphrase Zach lowe recently: “I know people out there aren’t watching the charlotte hornets, I do, because I’m a sick person.”

Something like that. I love Lowe, but he’s had some hornets comments that have been off base this year, and sounds like someone who hasn’t actually watched the hornets. But I know Zach lowe of all people has watched more hornets than 90% of major analysts have

Not to be too terribly superficial but I do love the lifestyle! Miller has earned all of the luxuries that he speaks of and I am glad to see him living life responsibly to the max outside of bball:

Congratulations young man you have arrived!

That was an excellent interview and yes he comes across as brilliant, thoughtful, funny and mature. Great to hear that he’s a gear head! Funny to hear that sh!t rolls down hill to NSJ and good to hear that they don’t cut the fool on the road. All positive.

One thing gave me pause in the interview. Sounds like Miller is looking to take over next year. I guess if Melo has never stepped up then it should not be an issue - but who knows.

6. Brandon Miller, Hornets

Age: 21
Top 100 rank: 66. The ceiling is incredibly high. Miller doesn’t turn 22 until November, and he showed as a rookie that he was ready for everything the Hornets threw at him. He often guarded the opposing team’s top perimeter player, and, with LaMelo Ball out for most of the season and Terry Rozier traded in January, he often functioned as Charlotte’s primary playmaker. The 6-foot-7 wing profiles as a franchise cornerstone, a guy who can create for himself and others and credibly defend multiple positions. Let’s see how big his second-year leap is. – James Herbert

Checking in on Brandon:

Just another reason to love Nashville. Video included! This has got to put a smile on your face. Got to!

Off-season growth spurt?

He has not been 6’7 for 2 years now. 6’8 maybe 6’9

The only player officially measured by the NBA in this pic is Knueppel. He was 6’5” barefooted. His feet are spread a bit apart here, reducing his height, but it ‘s fair to say Brandon Miller has at least 3 inches on Knueppel, even accounting for that. So, in shoes, I’d say Miller is 6’9” at a minimum.

You knew and didn’t share w/ the board?!?!? This is a big deal - the kind of deal to get me hyped for Brandon!

When was it ever in question that Brandon was not 6’9? Guy looks pretty tall on the court

There was a 6’7” figure floating around at some point, right after college. My guess is he measured that barefooted, which used to mean 6’8” in the old days, as a creative interpretation of shoe height was once the standard.

He did not measure at the official NBA combine so that lends a little mystery.

Follow up reply. He’s 6’7” right here according to nba.com. I know, weird.

Edit: Also, his ESPN player profile has him at 6’7”. Time for an update?

Edit 2: smh Basketball Reference has him at 6’9”.

Since rookie season he has always looked taller to me than other players listed at 6’7”. Maybe it is his long wingspan that makes him look that way. I am just going to continue believing he is 6’9”. I am 6’4” and when I met him I was looking pretty far up at him.

The 6’ 9” seems more accurate from that picture above. LaMelo is listed at 6’ 7” everywhere I looked.

Yeah it’s always been like that. Different websites have him listed at 6’7 and some 6’9. I know there has been that discrepancy. College says his this tall, nba combine says he’s this tall, hornets say he’s this tall, etc. Height in shoes or no shoes. It’s all over the board.

But looking at that picture, I wonder if he plays closer to 6’10 in shoes. I wonder he grew an inch over the last year? I legitimately think he may have grown a touch taller.
