When you’re as efficient as GH and clearly making every player around you better, fans are going to be far more forgiving to nonchalance and a chilled demeanour.
If you’re a player who doesn’t necessarily excel at anything, if it was me I’d be trying to compensate for that with hustle but maybe my personal feelings on hustle and aggression are clouding my judgement on him.
The movement of the ball on offense is far better this year as such he should be getting better looks, and yet both his fg% and 3p% are down and turnovers are up in less minutes. And I’m not saying he’s a black hole on defense either and maybe I’m being too hard on him and not seeing the progress but there’s been games this season where it’s seemed like he’s getting beaten far too easily. For me, if you’re going to be the 4/5th option on offense then you need to be solid at the other end.
Feel like I’m bashing him but it’s not that, seems like a decent guy, still rooting for him and I get that his first season in the league was cut short then a long lay off, now a weird second season in a very different looking offense. Just from a fan perspective, watching him out there I would love to see him take it up one more gear.

I can definitely see that. He seems like a guy who could be attacking more. I just think his disposition will always be closer to a Tim Duncan than a Birdman.
I think criticism of him is completely fair, but, as you say, it’s been a weird year and we’ve had a lot going on with our team.

I do feel like PJ is being asked to do a lot more this year versus last year, I know Miles struggled early last year when he saw an increased workload
In the interview last night. PJ was asked about the road trip. He said because the win last night . No practice is what he liked best. That kind of told me something about his drive and will to win.
Not saying he’s not good just that things have come to easy.
