Time for a big rebounder

Woods is not good on defense at all and Houston fans complain he is a black hole.

I think the Hornets need rebounding and defense more that anything from the 5. I think Turner would be a good fit.

I like this, but, nothing will happen until December 15 when the restrictions expire on FA contracts.

That’s a fair point about Wood’s defense. He’s never had a reputation as a good defender. But a guy who can get you 18/12, stretch the floor and provide decent rim protection is still pretty enticing given what we’re working with right now.

But I could also get on board with Turner as long as we don’t have to give up too much in the exchange.

More than anything, I just need us to be purposeful about upgrading the talent level at that position. Going through another trade cycle/off-season without making a significant move just can’t happen.

Goga Bitadze might work if the Pacers are inclined on keeping Turner and Sabonis. He would only cost maybe Vernon Carey and a second maybe. The Pacers are in a money crunch and are close to the tax so something will have to been done with one of their bigs. He’s not a big name but he’s young and won’t cost much to get. Mo Bamba would work also but he’s going to cost more to get. I’m trying to think of keeping all main rotation players in tact and adding a piece.

I thought the lightly discussed consensus was that while Myles (Turner) gives you rim protection, he doesn’t give you significant rebounding. Probably not an issue when IND can go to Sabonis and get double digit boards per game. But if you only get rim protection and then are giving up a lot of second chance points, it might dissuade the team from pursuing him at cost.

Note: I realize that Turner has shown an uptick this year but historically he’s been about half as productive on rebounds to what IND Sabonis is.

I think turner is only a small up grade over Drummond. Not worth the farm or even close. Sabonis i think makes him look better. I don’t love Drummond but as a stop gap while Kai , Thor, Richards develope. At least one of those could be good. That’s my reason for going cheap.

Fucking Plumlee’s feet is always planted heavy every fucking defensive position, not even challenging those inside shots WTF

Wish he’d stay in foul trouble.

Wish he’d stay at home

Plumlees need to improve career lows in rebound% and !!!FT%!!!. And as fit in and perform better on offense used more, at all time low usage%…at Biz rate.

Overall up to now for team, when Plumlee on court the drop of in offense rating almost flat from 110.7 to 111.2 but Opponents score 110.2 against Plumlee, 117.8 when off. By far biggest reason is opponent efg%, shoot .583 compared to .527 against Plumlee. Unfortunately expect to lose some of this huge difference, as with other career lows above see balance out as season progresses for a 8 year vet.

Other centers
PJ gives up 117.6 when on court (112.4 off)
Richards giving up 119.5 (112.7 off)
Huge driver again is opponent efg%, PJ giving up 57…Nick 60.

side note of fun useless stat…nowhere near as explosive…but lead team in ESPN highlightometer total…Plumlee 16 dunks & 15 blocks, Miles 16 dunks and 11 blocks.

Edit: 4 game home stand big or face screamies never play at spectrum center. Struggles badly early 4 home games with 102 OFT, 119 DRT…turn things around on road predominately with last 5 in a row…119 ORT, 108 DRT.

highlights need for competent starting center.

dream scenario = sabonis
would take = val, bamba, gorgie deng (deng and reddish for pj?), montrez harrel, deandre jordan, kelly olynyk,

Hey guys, as I planted my flag on the ā€œI want John collinsā€ hill…

This season is the most bamba fan club. Acquire mo bamba. Send a first rounder. Get him.

Bamba, averaging 30 minutes per game this year: 12pts/9rbs/2.2blks/1stl/2asts

40% from 3 and 70% FT. He had an 18 rebound game recently.

GET MO BAMBA.

What deal can we do for Bamba though? Kinda tough to match salaries except for Plumlee

Plumlee and a first. Or PJ and a second. Bamba is only making 7.5m this year before he’s a RFA after the season.

What’s the thinking that they would want to deal him instead of grow him? I know they gave Carter a significant enough contract but why wouldn’t they want to try keep Mo in a competing role? They are so under the cap they could offer him his QO and still be dry.

I like the idea of obtaining Bamba in a vacuum. However, we’d be trading for a half year rental on a guy that the FO would be reluctant to spend money on if they hold any hope that Richards will be a bridge to a Kai future. And they still have to figure out Miles Bridges’ next contract so they cannot be fiscally cavalier here.

I’m not sure this is a well thought out alternative but I saw that BKN might find a need to move Claxton to make room between all the aging PFs they signed to minimum deals (that signed with some assumption of playing time) and Sharpe. He’s a low-cost contract-wise and I like his play from the bit I have seen. It might be helpful how underperformant the Nets have been so far that they might see the trade market as an out. I just don’t think we have what they need readily available.

I’m sure they do want to keep him and develop him.

But I want him more than they do.

FO can make happen, swap RFA teams can’t and/or won’t be able resign anyhow.

Miles for Bamba & couple of the Orlando picks been accumulating from all the tanking.

Sorry for the lack of analysis there, but all I know orlando hasn’t really acted like they’re particularly attached to bamba since he’s been there. Sure, he’s getting 30 minutes a night so far, but what happens when they get healthier? Isaac will be back in the next 2 months I believe. They’ve acquired Carter. Okeke is another PF there.

With Orlando not good and still developing, I could see them taking more picks.

Right on cue. Bamba’s line:

14pts, 17reb, 3ast, 3blk, 1stl. He made two 3pointers

Ok say we get Bamba. Do you think the FO will throw (and would be willing to give) big money for both him and Bridges this offseason?
