Smart with not aggressively hunting a Center with the 11th pickā¦Good area to draft BPA. In fact, Iād rather see them trade back from 11 to get into the late teens or an extra pick next year.
If BPA is the focus, they in fact SHOULD trade back. If the Hornets do, Iād draft DayāRon Sharpe. The guy has a motor, is a physical beast, can play defense, a capable passer, and can develop better outside shooting. Heās not rated as the most āraw athleteā of the bunch, but he understands spacing and how to use his body. He doesnāt just relying on out-jumping people.
In fact, I wanted Sharpe to shoot more from outside because I think he has nice shooting touch. The mechanics are there. The fundamentals are there. He could use another year in college, but he was a guy that you watch over the course of a season that just āgets itā, in terms of BBIQ.
However, drafting Sharpe at 11 is nonsense. Heās a BPA upside flier to take in the 20ās.
Watch this video. Look how he just slides into the paint in traffic and positions his body. Thatās smart BBIQ and is technically sound play. Freshmen usually arenāt that sound or come in with a good feel for the high-low offense like he did. Thatās a guy that has the basics needed to be useful and develop skill. He has some mid range touch, but his ability to develop consistent shooting will make or break his career IMO.
Heās the guy i asked about three months ago . Heās big can rebound . He needs a lot of work on his shot
He isnāt a 11th pick but i might pick him around 20. He reminds me of V Carry a lot except heās a much better on the boards and not as good of a shooter.
So maybe heās one reason why the Hornets are being linked with the idea of trading 11 for 16 & 18. DayāRon is someone you draft with 18 and still get a shooter or someone to go with him.

Take on Favors contract and the 30th pick. Favors has 2 years at 10 per?
I would do favors run him at stop gsp center. Package 30 + 2 2nds to get back into low 20ās
I like Bagley, but remember, he is one of the worst 1 on 1 defenders in the league at the 4 spot.
I would not trade 11 straight up for him.

That leaves one spot left, feels like Orlando at 8 is the hardest pick to project. Iād say maybe Moody there right now but Sengun could also definitely be in play.

Favors is a no brainer .10 million a year for a decent back up center for two years. And walk away with the 30th pick .
Add 56 and 57 to 30 Would get us in to the early to mid 20tys
then do 20tys and Richards for Bagley
We then have two workable centers for less than 20 million.
We then trade 11 for 16 and 18 and add two good wing players 3 and D
Resign Graham and McDanielās Let Richards and the Martians walk. Finish the roster with veteran minimum contracts.

I really donāt see where aside of Orlando (8) or Sacramento (9), and sounds like Sacramento is heavily leaning towards Franz
I read Sac was leaning towards Sengun to replace Bagley
You donāt want to zero in on a player but for me, I would do anything reasonable to move up and land bouknight or sengun. Probably #7 from gs.
Would probably be something like terry rozier, pj or Hayward as the frame work.
I think both are going to be good.
