Pending trade downs I see us picking from Kispert, Jones or Sengun at 11. I think Moody, Bouknight, Wagner and Giddey will be gone. If Sac takes Sengun, then Wagner drops.
With that I bet we trade down and draft Sharpe, from the looks of things.
There’s a long shot chance Kuminga falls to 11. Would be crazy but it could happen. I bet we’d pass lol.
Listening to several pods today, it sounds like there’s huge variance on Giddey (5-28), Garuba (8-20s), Wagner (6-mid teens), and Mitchell (7- high teens). And the range of views on Kai, Moody, and Sengun go from underwhelming to huge potential. I don’t recall a draft I’ve been this convinced we can get a steal and a dud in the same pick lol.
I’m simply hoping that at least two of the Giddey, Mitchell, Sengun, Kai type group go before 11 and push one of the ‘Hornets Planet consensus three’ to us.
Looking more and more like Bouknight goes way before 11, possibly before Kuminga, so either Wagner or Moody or #16 & #18 please.
Odds on James going 5th went from +4500 to +750 over night. Someone knows something. I think we’re looking at multiple GMs completely sold Orlando, Golden State, and OKC all sold. Could be looking at someone moving up. As I’ve stated in the past no one in this draft has an offensive game better suited for the league. With space his offensive upside is incredible.
One could argue that 11 is worth more than 16+18, which is why I feel 34 or 36 is necessary and also it would be taking advantage of the fact that OKC pretty much needs to trade at least one first and one second this year or they would have 5 rookies from the first 36 picks.
We can do them a favor by taking 34 off their hands. Or 36. Haha
Kirschner isn’t sure what the chances are that Reddish is dealt, but writes that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Hawks packaged the former Blue Devil with the No. 20 pick in order to move up in the draft.
Rumors of the Jazz trading Favors & #30 to get out of his contract is something the Hornets should jump on. It’s an easy path to start patching up the center position without killing all their capspace.
This just makes so much sense for us. Favors absolutely helps us, and there could easily be a guy like Sharpe there that we are rumored to be high on that we could get with that pick. I also absolutely love a lot of these mid/late first round guards prospects (Butler, Mann, McBride, Hyland, Springer)
If it’s a Turner for Gordon swap like you suggested I don’t hate it, I’m just worried this will hurt us when it comes to recruiting future free agents. Gordo signing here then shipping him off a year later imo wouldn’t be a great look for FO credibility. This MIGHT be different though because Gordon kind of wanted to go to Indiana anyways, not like he’d be getting shipped to Sacramento.
I know you talked about us with Hayward going that way for Lamb and Turner, but just wanted to post this rumor including Houston. Thanks for all the insight!
