I think Nerlans Noel on a two year deal is starting to become one of my favorite cheap options
No way we’re this stupid.
Is it bad that my first reaction is that if I don’t know the writer and he ends with “Look for both the Raptors and Hornets to be extremely active this offseason, with a good chance of a trade happening between the two franchises.” that I don’t have much confidence that it’s got any merit.
Not at all. I call BS also.
Yeah that’s a trade I’d never do
Anytime you can trade 3 players playing way above their salary for one player playing way below, you just have to, right?
Yes that is the rule Chef. Have to do it. As well as pay Schroeder 100m over 4 years as well.
When you don’t read these things except for when they are posted here, you realize just how meaningless alot of people’s careers are.
I think I’ve turned full Chef on Andre Drummond I absolutely hate the way he plays
I totally get the concerns about Drummond. He’s by no means a perfect fit. But if it’s a choice between overpaying for Holmes (and I believe his asking price of $20 mil is an overpay) or going after a less desirable player, but one whom we could get for maybe half that price in Drummond, I’m torn.
I’ll also add that I don’t fully understand our infatuation with Harrell. Just don’t see how an undersized, defensively challenged big who isn’t an elite rebounder is what we need.
i actually agree as much as i dislike drummond’s game. drummond at 10 mil for 1 or 2 years is better than holmes at 4/80-100.
i actually also wouldn’t hate a straight punt on center provided you make everything right with lamelo.
No bigs are going cheap this year. Drummond with Ball might work well but i don’t know if he would run the floor . Still he will go for twenty million . Homes will get the 20 too. Harrell would be the worst to me he is a poor mans PJ. Noel could be interesting for the right price even him goes for 10 plus. Turner would be worth considering . Something like Terry for him would work for both teams and could help both teams . They have a starting center and we have extra points. Money works well for both teams too . Zeller in this class will get north of 10 million.
I get math saying that Drummond for 2 years at 20m total is good spending but I don’t buy that math is right in this context. It’s the same context that I think makes punting a bad calculation. I don’t think we have the luxury of falling short next year. We need a competent center. And for me, that’s not Drummond, Theis, or Harrell, and I don’t think it’s a draftee either.
Not saying that Holmes is the only option but think him “at cost” is more optimal than cheaper but lesser fits. I guess what I am thinking is that we can’t get away with shopping in the bargain bin but I have a hope that LaMelo and Gordon are a draw for getting a proper center FA at retail. We do however have to at least pay retail.
I hear you except for holmes. Just can’t pay him that much.
What centers could be had for pj, #11 and salary absorption?
I think you will see Harrell admit his mistake and accept a similar deal with us this offseason that we offered him last.
But has his value declined? It feels like it has
He is biz with hands. He isn’t worth that much to me
He is one of the best at the rim in the association according to my eye test. Idk what advanced stats suggest. That was really where we missed the most opportunities this year so I think he would help us way more than Lakers.
But he is not worth 3/60 at this time. I would say it is possible that he is now worth 3/36 or so.
Wonder if the Hawks would do 11 for Okongwu
I wonder if I would do 11 for okongwu lol
