No doubt a lot semantics and not about who defends but can be more about skills. MKG at best when healthy covered best scorer even if SG, dont remember ever called SG a lot. And of course not being able to shoot 3pts didn’t help.
When healthy often SF Gordon 2nd/3rd ball handler depending on who else healthy and on court. Cody-Oubre in game replace Rozier next to Gordon…well just about anybody other PGs…Hayward point forward next handler up. Have to call a SG in Miller-Hayward wing lineup, fine call SF Hayward the SG. Heck in early career when could and more mobile think Gordon actually called a SG? Given our limited ability to acquire a lot of skilled players, more likely in our rotation Miller will be next skilled up thus in this must have case will be the called SG even if perceived to be in name only and not check all the believed boxes SG has to have.
I knew I should’ve excluded the position. I’ll go back and see who Miller was defending.
I don’t believe Miller has the athleticism or lateral quickness to guard “shooting guards”, or possesses the ball handling skills to be an off guard type player who can handle or be a secondary facilitator via dribble drive.
I hope so, but I’m not so sure. We’ll figure it out as the season progresses. But after all, he’s a rookie and he’ll struggle at times. To be expected. I’m hoping to at least see signs that he can grow in that direction.
But I see him as the plug and play for Gordon Hayward’s departure after this season.
And the majority of those minutes were with lamelo in the second quarter when he was actively pooping the bed. And they got down double digits at one point I believe.
I was happy with his debut. Loved the fact he hit his first NBA shot, a 3 no less, so cleanly.
There were so many signs that, once the game slows down a bit more and he realises there are passes you simply cannot get away with in this league, he’ll turn into a high level player.
For a rookie, that was an accomplished game. Genuinely excited for the Melo, Miller & Mark talented trio.
What’re you talking about? I never said anything negative about "It's Miller Time!". None of that was negative criticism, at all. I prefaced it with it’s one game and I don’t make any meaning of it. Have you read anything I’ve said in any of the other threads?
If you read any of the other multiple threads, I’ve had a lot of great things to say.
I feel like you’re trying to start something with me and I’m not going to respond.
Don’t play the bully card, you don’t like the kid. It’s clear.
Remember your quote when comparing Scoot vs Miller?
“The kid who gave up fried food two years ago to improve his body and is 100% physically nba ready, or the guy who is wrapped up in a murder case and thinks Paul George is the goat?”
I’m confused, are you saying that you’re responding to my commentary I had about miller three months ago? Is this a delayed response to some post I made three months ago?
Edit: I just don’t know how we got from my comment (I guess you’re responding to?) from 2 days ago to now you’re bringing in something from three months ago.
I have no idea what I said from two days ago could warrant this response.
I forgot about Scoot the moment we drafted Miller and Miller is proving me that I did well by doing that.
I have been looking around the league, and guys his size at his position just don’t come around that often, regardless of skillset. See how heavily regarded Jaden McDaniels is for reference, and Miller has way more offense than McD does.
When you consider the skillset, he is a very rare archetype in the NBA.
IDK why we would be even talking about Scoot right now unless it is to talk about his 7 pt night on 3/12 shooting with 2 assists and 5 TO’s against Magic guards.
What we should be talking about is how our rook in his 2nd game has everyone talking about when he will be starting.
Hell of a consolation prize for missing out on Wemby.
