I think 3rd feels about right for Miller. He’s not topping Wemby or Chet, unless he really takes off.
Being third on that list is a pretty big honor. Those two in front of Brandon are
Is the ankle that took brandon out of the game recently against the nuggets the same he injured earlier this year? I believe it was a knicks game he landed awkwardly, tried to play, but had to leave the game 30 seconds later.
I hope it’s not the same ankle. I also hope this recurring, nagging injury does not portend to Melo-like ankle problems. I’m sorry for even putting that into the ethos, but I’m conditioned to be worried.
Bottom line: these tall, lanky guys need to get stronger and wear ankle braces to protect from injuries.
Dude his entire ankle got 100% landed on by Watson. He didn’t turn it. He got destroyed while being body slammed to the ground. It wasn’t something where he turned it or anything, it was assault. The fact that it didn’t result in a fracture would suggest B Miller is made of steel lol
The fact that he felt like he could come back into the game and was only listed as day to day is a straight up blessing.
Literally what I’m the world are you talking about? Another human tackled him under the basket. This isn’t lanky guys need ankle braces.
Sorry guys, I didn’t actually see it. I stepped away for a few minutes and missed that play. I just heard and later read something about his ankle.
Easy guys lol.
I just still pissed it wasn’t called a foul lol
Anyone have the article?
Lol first thing they say is Miller isn’t top 3.
Miller should clearly be top 3. So much Miami bias.
I disagree. In terms of future promise, absolutely. He’s 19 other guy is way older. Plus he has the advantage of being on a veteran laden well coached team. But on court right now, I can’t disagree
Miller has been every bit as impressive as Jacquez has been. It’s absolutely the Miami bias that has allowed Jacquez to be regarded more highly. If Miller played for Miami he’d be in the ROY conversation.
I think the irritating part, not that it’s anything new with us, is Miller doesn’t seem to have that same excitement in the national media as the other rookies. Wemby and Chet are the real deal, Jaime is the feel good story, sure. But they sure do love to pontificate on Lively and Ausar and their amazing defensive impact. Hawkins, Cason, Keyonte and Bilal are the other cute puppies they like to ooh and ahh about.
Then they finally get to “oh yeah, Miller is solid. But back to the PUPPIES!!! Look at little Podzie he’s just like a baby Steph!!!”
Jaime has definitely come on lately, but I’d still give the nod to Miller. Better shooting, better scoring, worse offensive scheme or identity, harder to carve out a role. I also feel like the assist stats don’t capture his passing. I’ve watched games, thinking he’s had like 4-5 good assists, and only credited with 2. Or countless times he swings to a wide open guy for a nice steaming brick.
Also shows how impossible the mid to lower lottery is. Any GM have been crucified if they picked Jaime at 4 or 5, even though he could end up a top 5-7 player in this draft. I remember really liking Jarace and Hendricks. Grady Dick was supposed to be a plug and play guy, but none of them have cracked the rotation.
Someone named Craig Porter Jr., who didn’t even start for a major college until his 5th year of eligibility, went undrafted, and is one of the best pg’s of the draft. I just don’t see how you project anyone outside the unicorns.
I think jaime jaquez jr has been better than "It's Miller Time!". Not by a wide margin, but just a bit. I’m not taking anything away from Brandon when I say that. So don’t come at me.
But here’s the kicker: if you plug miller into Miami, the national media would be talking about a budding superstar. Opposed to jaime who is being touted as another super solid “heat culture” player.
The team and franchise that miller is surrounded by is in total shambles. I’ve said before, the fact that he’s shooting about 40% from three and averaging 15ppg is incredible and a testament to how good brandon is. Clifford can’t even be bothered to make plays specifically for him in the offense.
But national media doesn’t actually watch hornets games. So they have no fucking idea. We do, however.
Mods, can we finally change the “it’s miller time” thing? I’d love to type out the man’s name without it defaulting to that.
Zero shade. It was funny, and appreciated. Anything funny about watching or following this team is appreciated, trust me. But I’m ready to type out his full name now.
Not changing it until he’s no longer a rookie, or gets an all team honor. Just don’t use his full name if you don’t want it replaced.
~ Brandon Miller
Sounds good. All I can do is ask.
Alright! My cheap replica from china arrived 2 and a half months later. Not bad
